In her Eurovision 2021 music video for “Sugar”, Moldova’s Natalia Gordienko was a sweet confection working a blue burlesque bustier and a wig inspired by cotton candy. And while her looks were most definitely sweet, it would seem that Natalia is leaving the candy behind her as she leans into high-fashion glamour. Yes, we are pleased to reveal that Natalia is working with the noted Lebanese fashion designer Zuhair Murad.

Natalia’s team shared the news with us on Friday, revealing that she and her closest advisors have already flown to Zuhair’s atelier in Beirut for the final fittings. As you can see from Natalia’s smile in the photo at top, she’s very happy about the final outcome. Natalia was joined by two of her good friends and collaborators — Philipp Kirkorov and Ilias Kokotas — in Lebanon.

Zuhair Murad will design Natalia Gordienko’s Eurovision looks

As Vogue Middle East explains, Zuhair is known for creating “intricate embellishments, delicate details, and form-flattering silhouettes.” His past clients include global icons like Priyanka Chopra and Jennifer Lopez. In 2010, the “Ain’t It Funny” hitmaker wore a Zuhair Murad dress to the Met Gala that took 1,000 hours to make!

Another standout is Beyoncé’s look at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, which included sheer sequin details running along her arms and legs. Could Natalia go for a similar look in Rotterdam?

Other stars to wear his looks include Halle Berry, Lily Collins and Sofia Vergara.

What type of look do you hope to see Natalia in on stage in The Netherlands? Do you want her to retain the bright colours of her music video? Or are you ready to see her take a totally new direction? Let us know down below!

Stepping out: Natalia and her team traveled to Beirut to finalise her stage costume with the Lebanese fashion designer Zuhair Murad.

So sad that they don’t help the locals (artists, producers, choreographers, designers). This isn’t really a Moldovan entry.

travelling for the dress? wtf are they kidding us? seems like there are no restrictions for rich people….

Kirkorov is spending a lot of coins for this entry, curious to see if it goes as good as he is hoping too, it’s an investment after all! Natalia has no say, i guess since Kirkorov is always there to give his say.

So tired of this type of entries bought by rich producers…

Travelling? For a dress? With all these people? No masks? There wasn’t anyone who could make her outfit in Moldova?

If Moldova would win I guess we would go to Sochi since everything is just bought. Kirkov as a host.

(And yes, I am aware I got Go_A’s songs mixed up – I meant “Shum,” not “Solovey”)

COMPLETEY AGREE. I work in health care and have not had a vacation day since May 2020, and have not seen my parents since 2019. Delegations flaunting their plainly non-essential international travel is like a punch in the stomach.

OMG!!! He is so talented!!!!! And I am really happy they are moving away from the concept of the video clip, which for me was not appropriate for ESC stage.

Chewing parts of faces isn’t appropriate for a family show?

In my humble opinion, I don’t think they should have hired a well-known fashion designer with so much haute couture knowledge, Natalia could look fabulous with just a dress made out of foam (pink, of course, which would suit her song and videoclip)

Oh, and don’t forget Kirkorov AGAIN trying to turn the spotlight on (guess who) himself with that DISGUSTING checkered shirt…

Hahaha….you’re right. But there are pink and pink dresses. The difference is to the glitter one….and this does cost.

Well, no one asked you either, unfortunately, so why don’t we live peacefully expressing our opinions without toxicity?

Barbara has been tagging Dior almost everyday on Instagram since she won the NF and has never mentioned Jean Paul Gaultier, and he hasn’t spoken about it either sooo this is my guess

At 13:30, she say Dior contact her after her win to dress her. She say also, the outfit she will wear will be close to the one from the national final, with a bustier, because she move her arms a lot.
