We’re all gearing up for the return of Eurovision in May. And as we get closer to the contest, we’ve got the songs from the class of 2021 on repeat. The Rotterdam playlist features 39 songs in total — each with unique cover art.
There’s plenty of variety in terms of cover art this year. Vibrant or subdued, conceptual or literal — the acts aren’t holding back in terms of artistic vision. And design is always an important aspect of Eurovision, no matter how small.
We asked our readers to vote in for their favourite Eurovision 2021 cover art. And now, the results are in!
Måneskin’s “Zitti E Buoni” has the best cover art of Eurovision 2021
We counted a total of 6,711 votes. It’s a close battle at the top, but Italy’s Måneskin wins the wiwibloggs fan poll for best cover art of Eurovision 2021. The gritty Moschino-esque “Zitti E Buoni” cover art shows red lips sewn together by brown thread — a reference to the song’s title, which translates to English as “Shut up and be quiet”. In our poll, the Sanremo champions picked up 378 votes — that’s 5.63% of all votes cast.
In a very close second place, we have Croatia’s Albina. The “Tick-Tock” cover art shows the Dora champion posing in a wine-red catsuit, framed by a triangle created by the As within her name. In our poll, Albina received 340 votes — that’s 5.07% of the total vote.
In third place is Finland’s Blind Channel. The “Dark Side” artwork is minimalist in nature, showing the six-piece band’s logo photographed using a slow shutter speed to create an ominous ghostly effect. In our poll, you awarded Blind Channel with 309 votes — that’s 4.6% of all votes cast.
Rounding out the top five are Greece’s Stefania with “Last Dance” and Czech Republic’s Benny Cristo with “Omaga”.

I believe that the bookies are wrong giving Italy only an eight percent chance of winning. They probably have more televote potential than the other frontrunners, and I don’t see why the juries would pass Italy by either.

Georgia 2016 and Albania 2018 were rock songs, and they did better with the jury than with the public. But normally, the viewers appreciate rock songs more than the juries.
We’ll see what happens in May. Maybe they will be appreciated, maybe they won’t. I don’t know. Anything can happen.
I don’t think the purpose of Italy’s ever been the one to win. I mean: for an artist it should be more important to have the chance to increase the audience, to spread music and messages to a larger public.
In the 90% of the cases Sanremo’s winner song is not even the most successful. This year for instead the most popular piece is “Musica leggerissima”, quite an obsession in Italy.
