We’re not doing a How-big-your-country-is contest dear… it’s a SONG CONTEST! If the small guys happen to have a great song then justice should let them win!

The longer this goes on, the more I don’t like it. I actually think it’s disrespectful to the performers, and I hope they’re not following it. For anybody still to get a point, it can only ruin their enthusiasm. The contest is in May, not now. Have the poll then.

That did explain it, thank you! I usually only follow Wiwibloggs and then the official Eurovision site for my sources on these things so I’ve completely missed this before.

Ogae is a mess this year for sure

Another thing that strikes me as weird is that ogae clubs are such a small insignificant part of the eurovision fandom but they receive privilege in eurovision tickets every (regular non covid) year? I mean what if you just don’t feel like joining a club? Does that make you less of an esc fan and less worthy of tickets xD I feel like younger eurovision fans feel less of a need to join a club like OGAE because the internet is already giving us so many different ways of reaching out to other eurovision fans nowadays. Back in 1984 that… Read more »

Oh another point: It’s like an old boys club. The dutch Ogae rewards the tickets on the basis of how long you’ve been a member: long membership will be rewarded with more chance on a ticket(It literally says that 90%!! Of all their tickets will go to the oldest members). That means young people or eurofans who just decided to join have less of a fair chance on a ticket within the club that they probably never wanted to join in the first place if it wasn’t that they have the key to a trip to eurovision or not.

One thing to remember is that joining isn’t free, the fee might be a bit different depending on what club you’re joining.

Ridiculous and ageist…how unfair that somebody who’s been to 28 contests gets priority over somebody who would love to go to their first.

Can we please lock in a cave from january to may OGAE members to stay away from the betting odds and some fake Youtube views. And just give them the songs. I’m pretty sure the results would be totally different

Voters of these polls are clearly biased from the bets.
They are trying to predict the winner only from the studio version of a song, not focusing on the live singing, stage performance and artist’s charisma.

What about Russia’s performance yesterday at the Spanish party? What about Romania’s? Its a top10 material, no?

yeah it sends me how they vote based on the betting odds. they do it every year. also congrats to france for being the first ogae club so far where more than 100 members voted

Belgium still having no points is comical. I’m wondering what excuses this fandom will come up with when Hooverphonic qualify with ease and get top 10 in the final. Surely won’t admit the ESC fandom has delusional and pop banger biased taste and will just say it was the staging that saved it. “Calm After the Storm” all over again.

The ESC fandom is not OGAE. Many here love The Wrong Place.

I really love both Switzerland and Malta, but I also want more other countries to get 12 points so it will not be focus on only 2 or 3 countries. Because it’s so many great songs and talentend artists this year.

That vote won’t be honest and fair anymore if the OGAE branches were acting that way. If they are voting for the same songs, it is simply a coincidence. Those ones are strong entries. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that the others that aren’t getting votes aren’t good. OGAE branches can’t vote for everyone… and satisfy everyone. Keep that in mind.

5 points to Sweden (just because it is Sweden I guess) but 0 from France to songs like Greece or Bulgaria? Jeez…These ogae guys have some really serious issues. Infe voting looks more to the point. Ogae’s music taste reminds me that of my 60 years old spinster aunt.

Or maybe some people actually like the swedish entry enough to give it points? I think it’s more likely that people hate the swedish entry just because it’s Sweden.

I didn’t call anyone stupid. I say that their music taste is far from mine. Just look how many times in the past they had Sweden in top5 even when the song was an utter trash. People and especially OGAE tend to vote for Sweden that’s because it’s Sweden.

Romania is in 12th place. Normal 100%. Possible final range 15th-10th.
Greece is in 14th place. Normal 100%. Possible final range 17th-12th.
Bulgaria is a little underrated…but inside a normal range. Possible final range 20th-15th.

And top 3 is locked…with the exception of Italy, that can take the position of France.

I think these 3 countries can finished higher than these places. I feel that some of Romania, Greece and Bulgaria will lift up the song with the stage performance. I see those 3 as potential dark horses.

Do the OGAE branches claimed that their voting was representative of the general public taste ? Did they also stated somewhere that their voting had to be taken seriously ?

Not gonna write the answer to those questions, y’all can already guess it by yourselves.

OGAE poll has predicted two out of every three winners since 2006…so think on.
