elena tsagrinou interview

She may sing “El Diablo“, but there ain’t nothing devilish about Elena Tsagrinou. The Greek star who represents Cyprus at Eurovision 2021 had a little chat with William right after her first rehearsal, and you can tell she was relieved. Find out more here!

Elena Tsagrinou interview at Eurovision 2021

Cyprus had one of the most celebrated rehearsals on day two and Elena agrees: “It was the best experience in my life, I want to do it again on Wednesday!”.

Our colleagues following the rehearsals agree with her. In Padraig’s words: “I still don’t worship at the altar of “El Diablo”, but after today’s rehearsal I might just be on the path to conversion”.

In Oliver’s words: “A very professional first rehearsal from Cyprus. It’s nothing mind-blowing, but it feels familiar, and that could work to Elena’s advantage. She’s wearing a bejewelled fringe dance costume similar to the one from the music video, and she’s joined on stage by four dancers wearing red latex”.

That dress actually caused Elena a bit of trouble. The long fringes are covered in diamonds, and some of them were falling on the floor, so she had to make sure she didn’t fall.

During the interview, Elena also shared how she’s dealing with stress in Rotterdam. Relaxation podcasts are helping her get through this experience. Meditation is making her “better”. She’s also focusing on inspiring stories: “I just try to be good with myself, it’s taken lots of years”, she says. And just for a quick tease, she is even singing in French at the end of our interview. Go check her out!

She is one of the few that actually delivered and exceeded expectations. She gives the gays what they want as well. I count on top 5 result here!

Safe to say a lot of people had their concerns over her vocals but her vocal delivery has been flawless! Not to mention all the choreo and the gymnastics she does on stage.
All the best to Elena 🙂

Elena is a great performer, despite the fact I really can’t stand the song itself. She elevates the track. Good luck, Elena!
