All the competing countries of Eurovision 2021 have now had their first rehearsal, and most have had their second. But long before they hit the stage inside Rotterdam Ahoy, our bloggers around the world were busy listening to and ranking their songs. In this video we go around the world to find out who they put on top.

Some of our long-time followers may be asking: Didn’t the Wiwi Jury already voteYes. But for the Wiwi Jury, our in-house panel of music unprofessionals each rated all 39 songs out of a 10, and the scores were simply averaged. When you do that all scores move toward the middle. It’s a useful exercise for us, as we all have to think about the songs critically and start to develop our favourites. But what exactly is the difference between a song with a score of 7.15 and a song with a score of 7.25 anyway? (Please don’t say 0.10). In this video, we’re voting “for” our individual favourites using the traditional Eurovision system of awarding countries points. This can change the rankings dramatically.

In our earlier Wiwi Jury, Switzerland, Malta and France came out on top. Will history repeat itself here? You’ll need to watch our 40-minute show to find out!

Note: If you want to keep the results a surprise, then do NOT scroll to the end of this post or look at the comments on the YouTube video. They are full of spoilers! The Live Chat comments on YouTube are OK though — they add to the suspense and the drama. Happy viewing and big love to you all!

When did this happen? Like when did these people vote? Thx

What they did to Belgium and Portugal is criminal. And Switzerland is by far the best act this year.

That was interesting and fun to watch although I would have wanted Iceland in the top 10. Congrats to Malta 🙂

The editing of this video was fairly hopeless. It was obvious that Malta and France would be at the top of this scoreboard so it was a little lame to front load all the reviews which didn’t have them at the top.

1. Russia (just because it is the best transformation of honest nature – message into pure art)
2. France (it is powerful, melodic, calm and nice)
3. Belgium (it stands out as if it is already a radio hit not written in a day)
4. Ukraine (the song is written to exist on its own not fitting any ‘how to write a good song’ guidelines
5. Switzerland (the melody, building of a song is classy, fine and his vocal adds so much)

Tobias from Sweden versus Oranie from France, two versions of patriotism and fairness. Voilà…
By the way, I’m so glad to see the result of my country knowing that so many correspondants are from English speaking countries but gave their Douze points to Barbara ; and above all BEFORE rehearsals where she was just exceptional. Hundred Years’War is definitely over. Thank you for your kindness toward my country William, Deban and the others. See you in Paris 2022 guys. From France with love.

Quite a possibility. It took a while for me to come around to Barbara’s song. I had her at #23 in my first evaluation; but then I started getting vibes of Salvador Sobral’s “Amar Pelos Dois”. He was my #3 going into the 2017 ESC, and he ended up breaking records there.

Now, after my 3rd and final evaluation this year, Barbara is up to #3. I have Gjon as my #1 and Victoria as my #2.

Why in Paris? The eurovision is going to be in Malta next year… Are Deban and William moving to France? ??

Interesting list you guys have here. Eight of my top 10 are in your top 10. Who’s missing? Swap San Marino (who barely misses my top 10) and Cyprus for Iceland and Norway.

Wiwi picking an up tempo female bop may be the least surprising thing this season.

A big thanks to Oranie: she played the game in a fair way by not giving points to her own country. Same for William and Deban. On the other hand some guys voted for their own country like the Swedish guy for example, what should we think about that?

Pay no attention to the negative feedback you got there (although I find the slogan a bit intriguing). She is a contender. She is my #6 this year. It would be a different story if we were talking about a real clunker in the opinions of many and on the bookies’ boards.

What a unreal inaccurate unreliable votes from people who votes watching the videos unwise unhealthy. The real result will show how different and real it will be unlike brunch of drunks working for wiwibloggs. Nonsense

Only 6 points for Belgium. SHAME ON YOU Wiwibloggs. Crap songs like Serbia received 12 points from some members, while quality is ignored. It says a lot about the level of your website.

This was fun, I hope you’ll continue doing it for every year. It’s a welcome distraction from waiting unpatiently for the semis.

I know they probably don’t have time, but between the final rehearsals and Semi-Final 1, they should redo this now that they have an idea of what is coming up and have an idea of what the artists are presenting. If they did, I doubt Malta would be last and Italy wouldn’t be lower than top 3 (Top 5 probably France, Italy, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Russia)

Malta? So what? Do you think tha Malta has no chances to win because Italy and France have a much, much more numerous population to pump up their betting quotes? They did it in the past too. According to the betting odds these two countries should have won at least two times each during the last two decades.

We have seen nothing of the rehearsals just photos and a 30 second clip and people are only judging the dress. People forget that Destiny and her voice elevate the song so much! Looking at all the Wiwijury votes, Malta did not receive a lot of 12 points, however almost everyone gave Malta 7 points – which is basically what is needed I guess. The same happened with Duncan Lawrence. He got only 6 sets of 12 points from the jury and 2 sets of 12 points in the televote (and only one country failed to give points to the… Read more »

Those 30 sec clips brought so much of the attitude each contestant has, and this matters a lot together with vocals, dancers, stage image backgrounds, so on.

Yes, so might as well not watch the semi final and pick our finalists then right? Guess not.

The Wiwbloggs reporters watched the full rehearsal and loved it. You can also look at other reporters’ reviews on YT as well who watched the full performance. So I guess, I’d trust the reporters’ review more than someone who watched a 30 second clip.
