On Sunday a positive COVID-19 case within their delegation forced them to miss the Eurovision 2021 opening ceremony.
But now, the Icelandic team at has confirmed that Daði og Gagnamagnið have tested negative for COVID-19.
The “10 Years” hitmakers will remain in quarantine until Wednesday’s dress rehearsals. The group will need to retest before entering the Rotterdam Ahoy for the semi-final two jury show and live show.
Daði og Gagnamagnið test negative for COVID-19
Here’s the full statement from the Icelandic Head of Press:
“The group of 13 people from the Icelandic delegation who took COVID tests on Sunday all proofed negative according to results just in.
If there are no symptoms or positive cases in the delegation in the days to come Daði og Gagnamagnið will be able to go on stage on Wednesday and Thursday. The delegation will undergo a further PCR test on Wednesday morning before being admitted to the Rotterdam Ahoy for dress rehearsals and an antigen test on Thursday before semi-final two.
The whole Icelandic delegation is pleased with these developments and will remain quarantined in their hotel until Wednesday morning when they are next due at the arena.”
Should the group remain safe and healthy, Daði og Gagnamagnið will perform “10 Years” on the Rotterdam Ahoy stage as initially planned.
This news comes after a member of the Icelandic Eurovision delegation tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday. The case forced Iceland’s Eurovision stars into quarantine, causing them to miss out on the Moroccanoil Turquoise Carpet event while in self-isolation.
COVID-19 scares ultimately forced four countries to sit out the opening ceremony. Poland’s Rafal was also forced into isolation following a positive case within the Polish delegation. Meanwhile, Romania’s Roxen and Malta’s Destiny were placed into quarantine as they are currently residing in the same hotel as the positive cases.
After their whole cohort received negative COVID-19 tests however, Roxen and Destiny performed in Monday night’s semi-final one jury show as planned. Rafal and the remaining members of the Polish delegation also tested negative and were given the same conditions to those of Iceland detailed above.
Rafal and Daði og Gagnamagnið will have to wait until Wednesday before knowing with certainty whether they will be able to perform in their semi-final.

I’m sure they will be able to perform. I think if they’re still doubtful, they should let them perform and then straightaway send them to the hotel instead of the greenroom. either way, this is one of my favorites and I hope everything works out . go Iceland !!
