Eurovision 2021 may be over, but the analysis of the results has only just begun. The EBU have now revealed the full results breakdown for semi-final two.

Switzerland’s Gjon’s Tears came out on top of semi-final one. Meanwhile Denmark’s Fyr Og Flamme finished unlucky eleventh and just missed out on a qualification place.

The rankings below reveal the combined and split-results for semi-final two.

Eurovision 2021 Semi-Final 2 Results

  1. Switzerland: Gjon’s Tears – “Tout l’Univers” (291 points)
  2. Iceland: Daði & Gagnamagnið – “10 Years” (288 points)
  3. Bulgaria: VICTORIA – “Growing Up Is Getting Old” (250 points)
  4. Portugal: The Black Mamba – “Love Is On My Side” (239 points)
  5. Finland: Blind Channel – “Dark Side” (234 points)
  6. Greece: Stefania – “Last Dance” (184 points)
  7. Moldova: Natalia Gordienko – “Sugar” (179 points)
  8. Serbia: Hurricane – “Loco Loco” (124 points)
  9. San Marino: Senhit (feat. Flo Rida) – “Adrenalina” (118 points)
  10. Albania: Anxhela Peristeri – “Karma” (112 points)
  11. Denmark: Fyr Og Flamme – “Øve os på hinanden” (89 points)
  12. Austria: Vincent Bueno – “Amen” (66 points)
  13. Estonia: Uku Suviste – “The Lucky One” (58 points)
  14. Poland: Rafał  – “The Ride” (35 points)
  15. Czech Republic: Benny Cristo – “Omaga” (23 points)
  16. Georgia: Tornike Kipiani – “You” (16 points)
  17. Latvia: Samanta Tīna – “The Moon Is Rising” (14 points)

Eurovision 2021 semi-final two split results

Televote Jury
1. Finland (150 points) Switzerland (156 points)
2. Iceland (148 points) Bulgaria (149 points)
3. Switzerland (135 points) Iceland (140 points)
4. Moldova (123 points) Portugal (128 points)
5. Portugal (111 points) Greece (104 points)
6. Bulgaria (101 points) Finland (84 points)
7. Denmark (80 points) San Marino (76 points)
8. Greece (80 points) Albania (74 points)
9. Serbia (68 points) Serbia (56 points)
10. San Marino (42 points) Moldova (56 points)
11. Albania (38 points) Austria (53 points)
12. Estonia (29 points) Estonia (29 points)
13. Poland (17 points) Czech Republic (23 points)
14. Georgia (15 points) Poland (18 points)
15. Austria (13 points) Denmark (9 points)
16. Latvia (10 points) Latvia (4 points)
17. Czech Republic (0 points) Georgia (1 point)

Finland topped the televote in semi-final two but sixth with the jury. Meanwhile, Switzerland emerged victorious with the jury and came third with the televote, which was enough to put Gjon’s Tears on top of the overall ranking for this semi-final.

The biggest rank difference between the jury and televote was for Denmark. Fyr Og Flamme were seventh in the televote, but the jury ranked her eight places lower in 15th.

If it were up to the televote, Denmark would have qualified instead of Albania. There was no such change with the jury results – their top ten were exactly the same as the eventual ten qualifiers.

Although Latvia finished last overall, they didn’t come bottom of the two individual rankings. The televote had Czech Republic as their least favourite (with zero points), while the jury put Georgia last.

Can I say that many commenters here are really toxic with Natalia and Moldova. Just accept that you don’t speak for the whole audience of eurovision. The song was well received from the fans since the beginning and yeah when the rehearsals started the bubble was dissatisfied but outside of the bubble we don’t know what’s happening. People probably loved this song and voted for that, romanian diaspora also supported them. Maybe some people if they like a song that much they don’t care about the staging… She lost her microphone and she still continued performing like nothing happened. She… Read more »

LOL LOL Yes!!!! Tibor, that is right! I guess Portugal is the moral 11th ? No, but you are absolutely right. We did now that. It is already very good that the jury recognized professionalism and good performance. IMO, the song was elevated not so much with the staging but with his life performance, which elevated the song. It matured very well. Who would have thought, after the final of FdC and all the bruh-ah after they won… 🙂

the EBU should really investigate what was up with Moldova’s televote. they got 12 points from 8 countries, most of them aren’t even neighbors (France, San Marino, Portugal). I’m convinced that there’s gotta be some sort of paid bot voting.

There’s still a possibility that Kirkorov was scared that a song of his would miss out on qualification for the first time, so he bribed the broadcasters to change the televotes

Exactly what I think. I’ve always said female bops were overrated by the fandom and wouldn’t reach top 10 di reality, but everyone of them was good and certainly better than Natalia. Even Albina who didn’t make it to the final and deserved it so much more than Moldova. Such a shame 🙁

Ah, the open, blatant xenophobia. If an eastern european country does well in a televote in means it was bots or diaspora. A lot of people just liked the song you know, even if the staging wasn’t great. Check out Alesia Michelle on youtube – even she says it was one of her favourite songs this year, and she’s American. The public in different countries don’t have to think the same as esc fans in the eurovision bubble

Giolo

Reply to  Rijxx

The fact one american person has a performance full of backimg vocals with a static performer who sings badly every time the backing track doesn’t cover her real vocals doesn’t say much. It’s not East Vs West. Russia deserved more. Ukraine, too. Moldova didn’t deserve the olace of Denmark, you have to admit it’s not normal a country gives 12 to Moldova in the semi final and then 0 in the final, under countries which were ranked below Moldova in the semi. Something is off here.

How about the fact that eastern european countries like Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria and Moldova were all scored much lower by the juries than by the public? That’s not suspicious? Yes it is pretty much east vs west

Also: the fact that a few esc fans consider Moldova didn’t theserve the points doesn’t say much. Maybe people liked the song so much they didn’t mind the vocals or the staging. Which were not bad by the way, just not outstanding

It’s not just some Eurofans. The eurofans loved the song when it was released and that’s the point. The fact is that Natalia had not a good performance, she was off bocally and tried to hide that with the backing track. She tried to be charismatic but looked unconfortable. The staging was forgettable. The points in televoting from semi final 2 and final match for every country except Moldova (what a coincidence heh) Also, what you’re stating doesn’t make any sense. I’m from Portugal and I can tell you that Moldavia, Ukraine, Romenia and Bulgaria have huge communities here. Well, don’t get me wrong but 23 is a decent margin between two countries

Oh, and San Marino & Czechia were r o b b e d. Benny did NOT deserve the 3rd 0 points from the public in Czech Republic’s history (the other two occasions were in 2016 and 2009 I think)

I’m actually quite surprised that Latvia came dead last. Though I guess the staging didn’t really help with it being too static and all.

Except for the Moldova thing, I am happy how juries showed to be less conservative this year. They were the ones who made an ethnic song qualify (Albania), gave Russia more points thab the public did (and Russia is always high with the public) and also didn’t disadvantage Ukraine so much. I am happy they are finally opering up to folk/ethnic songs. Good sign for the future of the contest

Doesn’t anyone agree that the 12 points to Moldova in the televote are weird? Based on recent voting history, shouldn’t it be like: Estonia -> Finland (12p in the final, 0p to Moldova in the final) France -> Portugal (8p in the final, 7p to Moldova in the final) Greece -> Albania (7p in the final, 0p to Moldova in the final) Latvia -> Estonia (DNQ, but they are neighbours) San Marino -> Finland (San Marino’s televote is calculated on some aggregate televoting score, 6p to Moldova in the final) Serbia -> Finland (If they gave 12p to Italy in… Read more »

San Marino underperformed with the televote, I wasn’t expecting that. But the only thing that didn’t make sense in this semi was Moldova doing that well. Kirkorov’s Eastern European tour with an almost silenced Natalia on his side really worked for them.

Another surprise is to see that Georgia got more points from the juries than from the televote. I’m sad to see Benny getting zero from the audience, even if his performance was a letdown.

I still think Vincent’s problem was being a jury-bait in a semi full of entries that would appeal at least equally to the jury but also have more televote potential. Even the simple but ellegant staging hasn’t helped him when Albania and Portugal went for aesthetics there were also classy and much more eye-catching.

I’m surprised and glad that Finland ended up so high overall. Them winning the televote in their SF and placing 4th in the final’s televote was unexpected, given the fact that there were many other favorites. Now I see the juries ruined their chances to get into the top 5. Anyways, it’s nice to see this is their best result since 2006.
Somehow, I didn’t expect the results of the whole contest, but I’m satisfied ngl.

Barbara Dex is between Sweden and San Marino in that the performers’ clothes undermined the atmosphere of the songs. No one was dressed really awfully among the main performers (Tix at least matched the song), but if we expand to dancers then I could see Croatia taking it.

We need a system where the Top 8 go through then the highest jury and highest televote entries not in the Top 8 also qualify. Would have been Top 8 plus San Marino and Denmark (Albania would miss out). Much fairer to the fans who vote.

Portugal’s 12th position is a positive surprise, we rarely qualify to the final!

2008-2010 we qualified to the final, then after years of non-qualifications we suddenly won in 2017, came last in 2018 and didn’t qualify to the final in 2019.

I really hope RTP (Portugal’s Public Service Broadcaster) keeps investing in Festival da Canção (Portugal’s National Selection, similar to Sanremo Music Festival).

The juries need to go. It’s difficult to understand what criteria they have when voting: is it the vocals or the overall performance with little regard to singing or something else? I think that all juries need to provide a justification for why certain countries received their points and why others didn’t.

Agree to ask more transparency from juries. But disagree for eliminating the juries vote. Juries level up the artistry level. In mi-2000s, when the votes was completely on the hand of public, Eurovision became to be perceived as a basket full of novelties….

Actually I agree with you. I wrote that juries needed to go because it was frustrating to see some artists who weren’t good vocally receive so many points from the juries.
It’s really funny that the juries were introduced to balance out things, however, those seem to be as subjective as the general public.

I am sure Greece was expecting to much better before rehearsals but during rehearsals they were disappointing so the 10th place is more than good! Very suspicious though to see Georgia giving 12p to Greece and not Ukraine or Lithuania… or Moldova and Greece exchanging points….

The staging concept was a mess. Last Dance sonically is very similar to You’re the only one in that it’s a bop with an epic, anthemic sound, so they should’ve staged it like Russia 2016.

While I like ambitious staging, I couldn’t connect with what I just saw with Greece’s performance. I was expecting some futuristic 80’s themed dance number but what we got was a flawed concept involving green screen and looping wallpaper. Supernova ended Latvia’s six year NQ drought with a song that finished sixth and came second with the juries. It gave Lativa another qualifier, and of its three NQs, Laura in 2018 was just a few points from qualifying. I think Supernova from 2015-2019 has been good for Latvia.

I think that San Marino was just really hyped in the Esc bubble. Yes it’s a cool song, but in the end nobody wanted it to win eurovision.

I disagree. I just think SM suffers from being a microstate and not having many neighbours/diaspora to rely on. Malta, like San Marino were both very televote friendly songs and yet both scored better with the jury.

Come on the vocals were awful even the public noticed it to note waste their money on it.

Oh totally agree, the vocals were a letdown. But I think we all expected it to do better than it did

So how in 2019 they finished 10th in the televoting with a worse song?

Wasn’t it because of the Turkish diaspora since Serhat is Turkish and even sang a little turkish in Say Na Na Na ?

There were so many bangers that in the end the vote was divided. I was surprised the same didn’t happened between Italy and Finland.

Only two rock songs and both are quite different within the rock genre – Finland is post hardcore with an emo element, whereas Italy is more classical. I don’t think they overlap that much.

I thought Finland would get overshadowed by Italy, but surprised it managed to reach sixth place.

Denmark came so close. I hope this doesn’t discourage them from sending songs in their native language.

Czechia getting 0 points from the public voting. My heart is broken right now.

The song was great, but the live performance was horrible. Then again, 0 from the televotes is kinda harsh…

It was indeed underwhelming and I guess it’s clear that Czechia isn’t beloved when it comes to the public voting but I didn’t expect 0 points for this positive song.

I believe the vocals killed it unfortunately, they were too weak. Mikolas Josef proved that Czechia is fully capable of getting a high televoting score, just try again next year and maybe it’ll pay off.

As a Czech: The Nil is harsh, but deserved. Many Czech ESC-fans are complaining about the semiprofessional/unprofessional attitude of Benny and even the deficiencies of the CZech broadcasters preparations..I hope that they get a grip and Czech Rep shall return stronger and prepared with the right atttitude: We ain´t here to play, we are here to win 🙂

Bulgaria (101) and Portugal (111) both did very well with public here. You could say they deserved more than what they got in final.
