Pictures: Maian, Andrei Zevakin & Grete Paia

It’s been some time since Eesti Laul 2022 treated us to the quarter-finals. With the live shows starting on 3 February, we are halfway between the quarter-finals and the semis. All the Eesti Laul 2022 songs have been released on Spotify, but each has been performing differently with the public.

Maian leads Eesti Laul 2022 Spotify streams

Songstress Maian has been leading the Spotify stream for a little while. Her Eesti Laul 2022 effort “Meeletu” managed to get over a 100,000 streams in little more than a month. Interestingly, Maian did not manage to go through on televoting during the first quarter-final, but had to rely on the jury. She’s managed to reach both Estonia’s Top 50 and Viral 50 charts. “Meeletu” seems to have become a sleeper hit with 119,214 streams.

Andrei Zevakin feat. Grete Paia follow suit. The duet, which is notably radio-friendly, has managed to earn 89,171 streams ever since qualifying. Similarly to Maian, they were included in the country’s Top 50 and Viral 50 charts in recent weeks.

Púr Múdd and Shira, who qualified during the last quarter-final thanks to the jury with the song “Golden Shores’, managed to collect 55,338 streams. Eesti Laul 2022 favourite STEFAN follows from a safe distance. The “Hope” singer managed to earn 45,778 streams within the past week. Anna Sahlene completes the top five with 38,325 streams for her effort “Champion”.

If Stefan wins, its gonna create possibly Buzz with Azerbaijanis. Hope is partly influenced about his relatives and neighbors caught in war in Caucasus and him hoping that they come home safe and about general hopelessness in the world about when SHTF. https://menu.err.ee/1608438428/stefan-eesti-laulust-lahen-selle-eesmargiga-et-koik-voi-mitte-midagi i can see some drama possibility. On the other hand he has to then sing well, cuz Armenians cant help out with votes

Yay!!! Meeletu and Golden Shores are my favs from this NF. But knowing the Estonian voter, I have my doubts and concerns about them qualifying to the finale.
On the other hand, the favorites (Stefan, Elina, Stig) seem to be over hyped this year.

Maian is my favourite to win. The only problem is if those streams come from people who will vote. For example me in Australia haha. Fingers crossed she can still win. Keen to see the lives

cmon, Hope, Remedy, or Little Girl are much better songs. Meeletu has no chance to make final

I think Hope is overrated and Remedy will rely a lot on the live performance. Also, Meeletu has a chance to make it to the final if Maian doesn’t pull a Heleza on her live performance

I would gladly take a superfinal between those 3 most streamed songs. But as Briekimchi pointed, the Estonian televote tends to push familiar faces with more conventional songs.

elina is literally better than all 3 of them lol

Oh my god will you just stop with all this Elina pushing. We get it, you love her but other people may have other favourites and a different act may win eesti laul.

And you are delusional if you think that your precious Elina is guaranteed to win. She’s not and to be honest I really don’t think she will. I think Stefan is probably the favourite to win.

Don’t forget Stefan (he hasn’t won Eesti Laul yet, but made to the superfinal a couple of times) and Stig. But yeah, I’ll be surprised if anyone besides these 5 manages to qualify to the superfinal.

Though there’s a variable to consider this year: there are so many familiar faces, that an outsider may sneak in if they concentrate the votes of those wanting a fresh one to win. The problem is that we don’t see nothing close to a consensus yet. Maybe after the semis.

In recent years, usually the superfinal is made up of two of the favourites and a surprise. Sissi, Anett/Fredi and Stefan have all made it when they weren’t expecting to and at the expense of one of the big names. What do all of them have in common? They won the jury vote. In Estonia, the jury vote seems pretty impartial and not particularly moved by name value. It’s worth 12 pts too…so probably, winning it and getting in the top 7-8 in the televote will probably be enough to get into the superfinal. Of course, if you do that,… Read more »

You’re right, topping the jury vote is the key for anybody else to sneak into the superfinal. Doing fine with the televote too obviously helps: Anett/Fredi and Stefan were 4th. Sissi on the other hand was just 8th (by the way, what a crazy final, she, Uku and Jüri tied with 15, Andrei/Pluuto and Koit with 14). I took a look on the jury voting from the last few years and they’re indeed quite impartial. Last year was a good example, Koit and Uku were by far the most popular names and got only 7th and 8th with the jury.… Read more »

Unfortunately you’re right, and it seems that’s the reason Estonia has stagnated lately

i think it was the other way round, first they announced the 3 televote qualifiers and then the 2 with the highest jury score out of the 7 participants left became the jury qualifiers

nothing, it all comes down to the live performances

For that matter, they don’t matter anywhere if we want to rely on them to predict a winner

It doesn’t matter. Eesti Laul is voted on by a much older demographic than what youtube views/spotify streams indicate.
We’re probably losing good stuff like Maian and Púr Múdd in the semis but will have Evelin Samuel and Black Velvet to look forward to instead. :3

In this case, Estonia needs to kill Eesti Laul next year and instead opt for an internal selection

Golden Shores is so underrated in the fandom,I listen to it daily!
Also even tho spotify streams is not always the most reliable thing to go for results wise,it gives the idea which songs have the most appeal and I agree with the top 4 and would add Jaagup as 5th
