Yes, that’s cool. Thank you, Devito! 🙂 I was looking for the translations on the wrong post though!

Anyway, they confirmed that the juries punished Moosu X for the vocals (I hope he works a lot on that, because I love that chorus) and haven’t accepted well a song with Spanish theme and hints coming from Cosmic Bride. It’s a pity, because contestants may end up avoiding taking risks in future editions of PiN.

Yeah, Moosu X’s vocals were inconsistent on a power level, sometimes they faded in the background, and sometimes they only got powerful in the chorus. He better work on them for the semi finals.

It’s weird how he showed more control during the powerful notes in the chorus than on the verses, right? Though the jury apparently liked the song, which is a silver lining.

My personal top (desired qualifiers):

  1. Moosu X
  2. Juste Kraujelyte
  3. Ieva Zasimauskaite
  4. Cosmic Bride
  5. Titas & Benas
  6. Emilijana

What about you guys?

Unfortunately, Cosmic Bride didn’t qualify. In fact, she got last place which is really unfair. Okay, she could have performed better, but that wasn’t the worst. Based on what you translated, it really felt like the jury were giving her a hard time over her song subject than actual criticism.

Leonas: Much stronger performances. Ieva has a lot of chances and had a “grand show” vibe. Moosu X was a nice song, bit dramatic. Queens of Roses vocals were overlapping not well.

Narkute: Ieva’s song felt nice, it was organic, professional. Not sure if she will win again by standing alone on the stage.Moosu X need to work more on providing energy, need to work on vocals. Queens of Roses song felt like it was sent to many people and it was okay.

Bikus: Continuing on Narkute’s comment, Queens of Roses reminded him one of Katy Perry song and it was pretty bland. Moosu X vocalist is too weak for the song. Ieva gave an amazing song, demonstrated professionalism.

Giedre: Talking about Ieva Zasimauskaite’s many attempts at representing Lithuania in the ESC, blah blah. In conclusion, Ieva – cool. Moosu X and Queens of Roses need to work on their vocals.

Zilnys: Ieva is great. Moosu X has a solid experience and he liked the style, visualisations, it’s actually pretty good. Queens of Roses have best songs’ titles every single year. Too much lyrics in this song to listen calmly though.

Narkute: Cosmic Bride was a very weird song but in case it would represent Lithuania, it would definitely get a lot of attention why the devil is living in Spain. Very unlikely to be sent to represent Lithuania though. Viktorija Kajokaite was weak and should understand it’s a national competition not some village show. Emilijana reminded her of some Balkan/Eastern themed song, song was one of many and it’s not good. Justin3 was okay and they looked like having fun.

Zilnys: It would be weird to send Cosmic Bride due to singing about a different competing country, might be the first time in ESC history when some country is singing about the other competing country in the contest. Viktorija should be praised for bravery. Emilijana reminded him Moldova or in general some Eastern rhythm. Justin3 song was pretty good Country-style song.

Bikus: Justin3 made the best impression but the saxophone was a little bit disturbing as it gave no additional value. Cosmic Bride was kinda weird and far from being a hit.

Giedre: There was too much of everything in every one of the four songs. Especially, Justin3 whose song sounded like you could split it into 3 or 4 different songs.

Leonas: Agrees that there is a lot of weirdness in these four songs which is not fine. The first too felt a little bit what Slavs, Moldovans would send regularly. Emilijana’s back voice was kinda interesting. Justin3 was too weird and unbalanced, saxophone was a weird choice.

I love to read the jurors’ comments that you provide, but some of the stuff about Cosmic Bride is out of line. Okay, you don’t like her song, then critique her on things like vocal quality and performance and maybe some constructive criticism to make it better (which I admit is moot because she didn’t make it). Not this BS about how weird it would be to send a song about another country.

Giedre: Juste Kraujelyte song has everything it needs – she wanted to sing along while listening to it. Same thing about Titas & Benas song.

Leonas: Titas & Benas made the best impression. Juste Kraujelyte was very professional but the positivity may be too much. He’s afraid that copy-pasting last year’s winners may not be a very smart move. Gabrea was a bit boring.

Narkute: Titas & Benas last year were more convincing and close-to-heart for her, this year not much. Congratulations to Juste Kraujelyte for a full package on the stage but she was lacking a bit of bravery. Gabrea was boring.

Zilnys: Juste Kraujelyte song may have not much of a memorable chorus. Clockwork creep may have this power to “shout out” during the pandemic restrictions but the song itself has no real value, construction, it’s nonsense. Titas & Benas probably wanted to show they can dance after last year romantic image but they still need to improve it.

Bikus: Closest to becoming a hit song is Titas & Benas song but they were lacking more of a bravery, clothing options were very “pandemic”. Juste Kraujelyte brought a very professional presence. Clockwork creep has an interesting image but there was too much of a chaos. Gabrea was too boring and those 3 minutes were never ending. It’s not okay when audience focus on dancers instead of singers.

The second heat feels a bit stronger than the first heat, although I’m still waiting for something that could have a winner vibe similar to Dischoteque, Where’d You Wanna Go, Alligator, Make Me Human, Light On, Criminal, ect. So far, Viktorija and Moosu X have nice songs. Cosmic Bride is interesting too. I’m between saying it’s compelling, and saying it doesn’t build a lot. I’m still intrigued by it. Justin 3 (otherwise known as one third of Twosome) could have something good, even if his solo efforts are usually on a more subdued side from what he does as a… Read more »

I’m with you there. Heat two is definitely better than heat one, but we also haven’t Hit upon the song that will represent Lithuania Eurovision. I’m feeling it’s probably to come from heat three because it’s got a couple songs that I think would be the best ones for the overall selection, namely gebrasy and Ruta loop. I’m intrigued if their songs are the best but we’ll see, they could be disappointing and somebody else could have a stronger song.

I am really looking forward to Gebrasy’s, Ieva’s, and Ruta’s songs. I think that they’ll probably still deliver quality, even if someone else surpasses them. I have no idea. But unless something changes, I have a strong hunch that the winning song is among the ten we haven’t heard yet – Ieva, Gebrasy, Ruta, Justin 3, Besas Pegasas, Gintare Korsakaite, Vilija, Geleibra, Monika Liu, and Lolita Zero (although I’d be flabergasted if Lolita brings anything above the level of her last name). In any case, I am open to any of them bringing something great!

During tonight’s show interpretation I will use these shortening forms for juror comments:

  • R. Zilnys (Zilnys)
  • G. Kilciauskiene (Giedre)
  • L. Somovas (Leon)
  • V. Bikus (Bikus)
  • I. Narkute (Narkute)

Mainly because 1 – I cannot write full name of V. Bikus (I get “awaiting for approval” if that name is mentioned in the comment), 2 – there are going to be two Ievas tonight (Ieva Narkute as the juror and Ieva Zasimauskaite as the contender).

Things I am looking forward to tomorrow–Live performance videos and Devito’s translated juror commentary. They were a riot to read. Although this might not be the running order, here are my predictions: Viktorija Kajokait? “Piece of Universe” (Yes) Gabrea “Make It Real” (not sure, but leaning no although decent) Clockwork Creep “Grow” (No) Emilija Katauskait? “Illuminate” (No) Just? Kraujelyt? “How to Get My Life Back” (Either way) Titas ir Benas “Getting Through This” (hopefully yes) Ieva Zasimauskait? “I’ll Be There” (hopefully Yes if song is good) Queens of Roses “Washing Machine” (personally no, but might be yes) Cosmic Bride “The… Read more »

As for the running order if nothing changes it will be:

  1. Clockwork Creep
  2. Juste Kraujelyte
  3. Gabrea
  4. Titas & Benas
  5. Cosmic Bride
  6. Viktorija Kajokaite
  7. Emilijana
  8. Justin3 feat. nanaart
  9. Ieva Zasimauskaite
  10. Moosu X
  11. Queens of Roses

Apparently they want to start strong (Clockwork Creep) and sadly finish with Queens of Roses instead of Moosu X as it was suggested previously. We will see if any changes were made once again. 🙂

With all but two songs out for Heat 2, I agree. This definitely feels like a step up from last week. Sometimes it’s not always how you start, but how you finish. In this case, it’s the middle were things are starting to pick up. Let’s hope everyone performs well tomorrow.
