Only four spots remain in the grand final of Melodifestivalen 2022 and these will be taken by the qualifiers of Saturday’s semi-finals.

The third and fourth-placed acts from each of the four heats have progressed to the semi-finals. These eight artists have been split into two semi-finals. The top two from each semi-final will progress to the grand final on 12 March.

Ahead of the show, we asked y’all to vote for who you wanted to qualify from each semi-final.

After counting and verifying the results of both polls, we can now reveal the results.

Scroll down for full poll results.

Anna Bergendahl a favourite in Melodifestivalen 2022 semi-final one

For semi-final one, 2,638 votes were cast, and there was a clear standout. Anna Bergendahl soared to victory with almost half of the vote. Sweden’s Eurovision 2010 star received 1,252 votes for her song “Higher Power”, which is a massive 47.46% of all those cast.

The other act you’d like to see qualify from semi-final one if Tone Sekelius. The first ever trans participant at Melodifestivalen, Tone has captured the hearts of many. She picked up 767 votes (29.08%).

If this was the official results, we’d sadly have to say goodbye to Alvaro Estrella and Danne Stråhed.

Poll results: Who should qualify from SF1 of Melfest 2022?

  1. Anna Bergendahl – “Higher Power”, 1,252 votes (47.46%)
  2. Tone Sekelius – “My Way”, 767 votes (29.08%)
  3. Alvaro Estrella – “Suave”, 514 votes (19.48%)
  4. Danne Stråhed – “Hallabaloo”, 105 votes (3.98%)

Total votes: 2,638

Cazzi Opeia a favourite in Melodifestivalen 2022 semi-final two

In our semi-final two poll, 2,588 votes were cast. This was a much tighter race, but in the end it was Cazzi Opeia who came out on top. She sing’s “I Can’t Get Enough”, and it seems y’all can’t get enough of her song. Cazzi was awarded 985 votes – that’s 38.06% of the total.

Your other qualification spot would go to Theoz. The teen singer participated in the very first week of the competition, but many people still remember his catchy pop song “Som du vill” (“As you wish”). Theoz earned 805 votes (31.11%).

These results would mean the journey would have to end for Lisa Miskovsky and Lillasyster.

Poll results: Who should qualify from SF2 of Melfest 2022?

  1. Cazzi Opeia – “I Can’t Get Enough”, 985 votes (38.06%)

From Group One Anna and Alvaro will be the qualifiers for the final because most of the Swedish audience prefer returning artists at Melodifestivalen. It will be a big surprise the Swedisch audience will change the decision. That means it sends Tone instead of Anna or Alvaro. From Group Two Theodor Haraldsson and Moa Anna Maria Carlebecker will be the qualifiers to the final. Two newcomers will enrich the line up but I am afraid the Swedish audience will send Lisa?Miskovsky and Lillasyster instead of Theodor and Moa Anna Maria Carlebecker because Lillasyster lost the duel last year and deserve… Read more »

I actually thought Bergendahl was best the year she didnt qualify. That felt more like her, more real. Authentic even. That is why Swedes voted for her back then..
This new mature country style feels calculated and made up, as if her manager or someone said “why dont you go for the older audience” and pushes her into it. It does not feel genuine. Thats why I think she hasnt won, that true feeling is gone

I’m completely okay with Anna, Tone and Cazzi but I want Lisa instead of Theoz please! His song is fun, but Best to Come is sooo much better it has such a nostalgia vibe.

SO waiting for next week and the final. So many mediocre songs that only the final matters! Hoping the best for Lillasyster though. Something different!

song-wise i prefer higher power to ashes to ashes (not kingdom come) but ashes to ashes had phenomenal staging and styling meanwhile higher power’s staging leaves me confused… anna’s outfit is just weird looking and the staging doesn’t match the song whatsoever, like whos smart idea was it to put graphics of horses to a song about a “higher power”?

I don’t know why but i won’t be surprised if Anna doesen’t make it to the final. So far her weakest song at Melfest but its not bad.

I seriously hope Cazzi goes to the finals. Her song is such a bop! I’d also really like to see her on Eurovision but she isn’t nearly as liked or as popular as some of the others so… Very improbable…

I understand that Anna wants to make up for that bad result from 2011, but she has to apply with stronger songs. That would be my honest advice to her.

Kingdom Come was her best entry and would’ve probably got her some redemption

Ashes to Ashes and Higher Power are both really nice songs I like them but yeah at Eurovision they wouldn’t do that well

I have a feeling this might be her final attempt anyway but who knows

Cazzi Opeia really deserves to represent her country; I cannot wait to hear Italian hostes pronouncing her name – ’cause the word “Cazzi” means d***s in Italian and is not allowed on TV.

If she goes to ESC, she will probably change her artist name at the moment. When the group Malta represented Sweden in 1973, they temporarily changed their name to Nova so as not to be confused with the country Malta

LMAO that’s hilarious. Can’t they just say cassiopeia instead since that’s what her name comes from.

I could imagine her name being censored on RAI

Fun fact: Lisa is the singer of the song “Still Alive” from the popular video game Mirrors Edge (2008)

I hope it will be Anna, Tone (or Alvaro), Lisa and Lillasyster (or Cazzi)
