Multi-layer song. The lyrics are really something. The question about our (post-covid) mental health at the end is so spot on! Scenography compliments the song. I think that excessive hand washing is “her way” to remain healthy since she, as an independent artist, cannot afford to fall ill as she does not have health insurance. It reminds me of the performance by Marina Abramovi?.

This song is allready one of my favorites of all times. Original, catchy and deep at the same time. And there’s that theatrical performance so rooted in present time, washing hands because of COVID. It’s just incredible!

Ermmmm NO.. the song is cute, but this is not even singing.. I mean it’s a song contest, not a recite contest..
Performance is good, even tho she is washing her hands for three minutes, it’s still cool, I will say that, but the song is just a mess..
Sorry Serbian fans..

You can obviously see from the lyrics that she doesn’t really support the country politics either. So that’s all the more reason to support her.

To bad thic contest is toxicated with politics last few years.
We all know Ukraine will win this year and that has nothing with music.
It was the same even when Jamala won.
Serbia won too as a satisfaction of losing Kosovo. It was a good song but not that good.

I dont think this song is actually written to be liked by so many.. Both the lyrics and the performance are deeply sarcastic, and not everyone can tolerate that even less so in a eurovision song: But you might need to come to the final verses in latin to get the whole picture. Personally, the aspect of this performance which I find most amusing is that people are massively engaging in the close reading of the song as if they were attending a literature class, whether they like it or not. For those who dont have the patience to do… Read more »

She actually said she never thought she could win the national finals, just wanted more people to hear her music and what she has to say through her art. So, a likeable song for the masses was never an option.
Well, she will have quite an audience, I hope she’s up for the challenge! 🙂

Is there a better moment to create a reminder for all humanity, that it’s failing, and it is failing because it is obsessed with trivial things (Megan’s shiny hair?) completely forgetting about true values that should lead us through life? Hello? The world came so close to a possibility of nuclear devastation – should we really sing about anything else right now? Should we dance and just forget about where our societies are heading? Well done, Konstrakta. Eurovision’s stage will welcome a true artist with a powerful message this year for everyone willing to hear it and embrace it. And… Read more »

Okay, I’m addicted to this song. I adore how out of the box it is and how provocative the lyrics are (provocative in the best way possible). I love how it delivers strong criticism with a huge punch, despite being understated, purely musically speaking.

This is thought-provoking art at its best

That comment was a joke hah.. This song is my #2 so far but it desperately needs a small revamp. I get the point of the whole thing is the performance but for me the instrumental is missing things and it needs to be polished and made a bit richer. The eurovision channel added the ”National Final Performance” which means there could be one. Just small details would make the song 10/10 because the melody and the lyrics are already great

Hmm, the first time I listened to this, I was quite confused on what to think about this song. Then, I listened to it, like 3 times more. It started to grow on me really fast! It’s different, and the meaning is actually amazing, though the lyrics are kinda weird (I still don’t understand why she has to mention Meghan Markle’s hair?) Soon I got addicted to the ‘Biti zdrava’ hook. I think this would great and unique to see at Eurovision. Please don’t underrated this, Europe 🙂

First of all, this is discussion abuot Serbian entry! Second, not entire Serbia is pro-russian, not everything is politics and not every president speaks in the name of the people. Btw, this song win was so unexpected bc is so different and it’s not something that an average “pro-russian” Serb would listen to, and still got 2 times more votes than the second placed. If you look at the performance, you won’t miss Ukraine flag in the background! After all, who are you to make me explain all of this to?!

Just check the screen at 2:21, and I think the Serbians indirectly told you what they think of this conflict, quite the opposite I would say.

You’re just making something worse than it is. Stop, don’t be rude, be healthy, don’t have a desperate mind in corpore sano, just like the song says ;D

Well this will be a crime if Serbia qualifies or even don’t finish dead last. You can’t compare both. Telemoveis was far better and original. Serbia 2022 song is just a pure nonsense without any melody. Konstrakta reminds me of a Serbian Laurie Anderson. This is Avant Garde, performance art.

I agree with all you said. I’m not much of an expert for local music scene, but I expect that a mainstream teenager had never heard of her. Absolutely adore this entry already, her delivery and just the whole vibe of it is insanely engaging. Certainly up there with the greatest Serbian entries (“Molitva” included), at least for me, and could very well end up my favorite out of all of them. Many thanks, neighbors, will 100% be voting for you in Torino cause I can only dream of my own country sending something like this currently, especially when our clueless jury pushes through acts like WRS mumbling his way through some random Spanish…

this isnt telemoveis 2.0. It is trending in almost 10 countries, it got the most votes ever in a serbian national final winning both juries and televote. Of course the fandom judges any anti commerical song (as they did with Go_A) but here its beyond any fandom. Its a piece of art that needs very careful execution for a paneuropean audience. People already talk about this and they will more in may.

Washing hands …”OCD quality” is on point…That’s it! There is NO HEALTHY MIND (???? ????) in HEALTHY BODY (?? ??????? ????). That part is left and excluded! The song has many layers but one of them is the problem of mental health and the human obsession with a healthy body. The other is a bad health care system. If you don’t have health insurance you are invisible to the government. Also, she is an artist and the state doesn’t care about artists and cultural workers and culture at all and their struggles. And yes it’s Marina Abramovich’s influence, too.

I don’t see this song qualifying. Not due to the lack of artistic merit but I simply don’t see it attracting either juries or the public. It lacks the radio friendly appeal or the big vocal skill it’d need to score highly with the juries. It’s also not catchy or fun enough to get the public to pick up their phones. As for the medicalisation issue it draws attention to, I don’t think it’ll transcend borders to be relatable to most Europeans.

Based on these arguments something like Sebi (art piece) shouldn’t have gone to the final yet it was Top 5 with public
People had doubts even with Manizha or Go_A last year.

Dawid

The difference was the songs you mention were full of melody and connected to audiences emotionally. Sebi’s song was deeply melancholic and the pair’s powerful chemistry made the song. Manizha’s goosebump inducing choral moment, with a high energy call to power. Go_A and their melodic gentle flute solo contrasting with a classic techno drop. Konstrakta’s song lacks such power in my opinion as it was performed which could be changed. I find her song purposefully monotone, and theatrically staccato. That’s not a bad thing. I could easily see it on a musical theatre stage, cabaret stage, but I don’t know… Read more »

I can understand why the fandom is liking this, but part of me gets Portugal’s Telemoveis vibes from this—loved in the country and with Eurovision fans and on the night just comes across as a big WTF moment with regular viewers. What is happening this Eurovision season—everyone is trying to outweird each other. A lady washing her hands, a song about salad, masked singers, wolves singing about bananas—this whole season feels like a giant step back to 2008 when we had people hanging laundry, a singing turkey, pirates and Leto Svet.

This is the kind of song that people are either going to love or going to hate; there’s no middle ground with this song. I think some memorable staging should help its chances, and honestly the staging doesn’t need to change all that much from the national final to Eurovision. Personally, I got major Laurie Anderson vibes when I was listening to this song for the first time. In Corporo Sano kinda reminds me of Hvala Ne (Slovenia 2018). Hvala Ne was also a risky song, one which was rewarded with a spot in the finale. Just like Hvala Ne, I think In Corporo Sano will make it to the final.
