At the start of February, Andrea was selected to represent North Macedonia at Eurovision 2022 with the song “Circles”. Now a month later the singer has shared the music video for her entry.
The music video for “Circles” features Andrea walking around a city. We see her singing in front of a number of backgrounds – including a block of flats, a train station, a bridge and the high street.
For the final 40 seconds, we move to a round concrete structure lit up with blue lights. Andrea performs on a podium in middle of it all.

The music video also comes with a newly revamped version of “Circles”.
Andrea hasn’t reinvented the wheel – she’s deemed it to be plenty fine as it is. However, there are subtle changes in production.
The most notable change is in the bridge, which now has extra ad-lib sections from Andrea before transitioning into the final chorus.
Those who were watching Romania’s national selection Selecția Națională 2022 will have already heard this new revamp. Andrea performed the new version of “Circles” as an interval act – her first live rendition of the song.

North Macedonia at Eurovision 2022
North Macedonia selected Andrea as their act for Eurovision 2022 through the show Za Evrosong 2022.
The selection saw the six competing acts judged by a 50/50 split of a jury and public vote. After both Andrea and Viktor received the joint highest score, a tie-break was used to declare the winner. Since Andrea received more points from the jury, she was announced as the winner of Za Evrosong 2022.
“Circles” was composed by Aleksandar Masevski. The lyrics were also written by Aleksandar, along with Andrea herself.
At Eurovision 2022 in Turin, North Macedonia are scheduled to perform in the second half of the second semi-final on 12 May.
What do you think of the “Circles” music video? Are you happy with how Andrea has revamped the song? Let us know in the comments below.
Not saying it’s a bad song but this girl looks miserable, like she doesn’t even want to be there. I know she’s trying to portray emotion but she just looks so miserable and it’s a bit of whiny song. Will be shocked if it qualifies. Quite boring actually
What city is that?
Skopje
I’m glad they made it more professional, even if I don’t like what they did with the bridge. Things aren’t looking great to North Macedonia, but there’s something so genuine about Andrea, maybe she finds a way to connect with the audience.
Yes, the song “goes around in circles” and maybe that’s intentional…but yes, at the “test my limits*, I wanted something with a punch towards the end.
I like it, but I don’t think she will qualify.
Could do well with the juries like 2019
Lovely voice, meh song
I feel that this song might be a dark horse this year. I only listened to it once and I was not crazy about it but it stayed with me and I still remembered it. The more I listen, the more I like it. And what I like the most is that she is really emotional. It just feels genuine.
Armenia 2019 syndrome ? Calm down girl.
Not feeling it unfortunately..
I’m really surprised that this song is not getting more traction. It feels very authentic and genuine, which makes sense as I believe it is based on personal experiences in Andrea’s life. It is certainly one of my favorites this year.
I agree! It has all the necessary ingredients to be a song loved by the community and what I love the most is how heartfelt it is
People overlook this song so much. I hope Andrea makes the final. She deserves it.
Thank you Jonathan for covering and writing about North Macedonia. I was wondering why – in comparison to other countries revamps and entries (even National Final) – North Macedonia’s official entry didn’t got attention or recognition since it was released yesterday. That said, it’s a slight revamp but didn’t went into the wrong direction for me. The song itself is enjoyable yet not the strongest one. I really wish that it will qualify, but only see it in the final with a great and thoughtful staging and good vocal performance. In the past North Macedonia had good songs (2017 /… Read more »
I hope people won’t run in circles trying to attack Andrea over this song. It really is a good song now. So underrated.
Not a chance to qualify, sorry.
Yey, a location shoot that reminds me of my home city! Ahaha. I like “Circles,” especially as Andrea’s deep and emotive voice enhances the song further. I hope this one does well. I am surprised it’s not higher in other fans’ lists so far.
I haven’t heard this song a lot, but it really isn’t bad. I’m afraid though that semi 2 is going to be so competitive, that she’s facing an uphill battle to qualify.
It’s not bad. It’s just “ok”. You won’t win with “ok song”
Azerbaijan 2011 says hi
I haven’t watched her live performance by now. She looks a bit like a reindeer in the headlights. But since this is her first live performance, we can expect her to get better in future. Her just standing in front of the screen and (shaky) singing will definitely not get her to the finals. But I still think with good running order and great performance and good vocals – any song can make it into finals, including this one. I guess telling a story on the screen and a male dancer with her slightly involved in the choreography and the… Read more »
She´s gay so I´m not really interested in any male dancers!
Why not? She just has to dance with them
Wow.
So you are saying that all of the artists that have dancers of the oposite sex are straight and the ones that have male and female dancers are bisex? So ignorant, you should be ashamed having this kind of views in 2022. ?
You need to chill . Easily triggered
What I´m saying is: representation matters and her sexuality should not be silenced. That matters to all queer people, me included. So calm down pls.
Ohh, didn’t know that either. Yes, a female dancer might do more wonders for the story in that case. 🙂
