Maneskin Eurovision

They’re the reigning Eurovision champions, and now Måneskin will take to the contest’s stage once again as an interval act for the grand final of the 2022 competition.

The Italian band have had a jam-packed year since lifting the glass microphone, travelling and performing across the globe to an ever-growing fanbase. But now they’ll be coming back to where Europe first fell in love with them.

Måneskin to perform at Eurovision 2022 grand final

With such a busy scheduled, there had been speculation over whether Måneskin would have the time to come back to Eurovision. However, to the delight of Eurovision fans, Italian broadcaster RAI has now confirmed that the quartet will indeed take to the PalaOlimpico stage on Saturday 14 May.

Damiano David, Victoria De Angelis, Thomas Raggi, and Ethan Torchio will reprise their Eurovision 2021 winning song “Zitti e buoni”. They’ll also give the premiere performance of their new single “Supermodel”, which is set to be released on Friday 13 May.

Eurovision 2022 grand final opening and interval acts

In addition to Måneskin, the grand final of Eurovision will also see a number of other performances.

The show will open with a performance entitled “The Sound Of Peace”. Rock musicians Rockin ‘1000 will give a rendition of “Imagine” by John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Starting from the streets of Turin, they’ll eventually make their way to the stage of PalaOlimpico arena, where they’ll be joined by hosts Laura Pausini, Alessandro Cattelan and Mika.

Laura Pausini and Mika will also both have their own interval performance.

Laura — among the best-known Italian singers globally — will take us on a journey through music, starting from her very first appearance at Sanremo and ending with her latest single “Scatola”. As she does so, she’ll be singing in five languages.

Mika has previously teased his interval act, noting “I will also perform and I am thinking of a provocative performance. It will be a surprise. Eurovision is not just a show, it is like an Expo but concentrated in a few days.”

Italy’s very first Eurovision winner from 1964, Gigliola Cinquetti, will also have the opportunity to perform.

Are you excited to see Måneskin back for the Eurovision 2022 grand final? Which interval act are you looking forward to the most? Let us know in the comments below.

I’m glad Maneskin are back – this all sounds good and I’m intruiged by Mika performing – I liked Grace Kelly back in the day and my brother liked him. However I’d be disappointed if their 2020 Diodata wasn’t even offered the chance to perform so the poor dude could finally get onto a ESC stage even if it was an interval act – I think since he was on Europe Shine A Light and Fai Rumore was played out of people’s balconies in the pandemic in Italy he’s kinda owed that. It’d be nice to see some of the… Read more »

Gigliola Cinquetti deserves more than one sentence at the bottom of the article, I’m sorry.

Will it be pre-recorded since they have to be in LA next day?

Have to be? You know they can also just record a message for the Billboard thing. They are in Turin, they never said they would be at the Billboard Awards.

I must admit that before it turned out to be one of the biggest flops of the year,I half expected the winner of the American Song Contest (being announced Monday) would be whisked over to Turin to perform their song in the interval of the ESC Grand Final.

I’m still not certain this will not happen. Grant Knoche from Texas would be an excellent winner and ambassador for the ASC for future editions. His performance also deems the most Eurovisionesque to me.

I agree. It’s been a complete disaster ratings-wise.And, American broadcasters aren’t exactly know for their patience at giving shows time to build an audience.

It would be very hard to prepare and rehearse the performance at ESC stage in a few days. The crew will already be too busy with all the dress rehearsals and live shows.

Guys, I am too obsessed. Today I dreamt that Eurovision was cancelled because after the rehearsals it was decided that Serbia is the winner. On one hand I was happy, because Serbia is my number one, but on the other hand I was sad that I won’t see all the performances on the big stage.
