He always said he’ll be back, and now he is. After winning Eurovision last year, Kalush Orchestra have been touring Europe and North America during their Ukrainian charity tour and collecting new fans along the way, including none other than the Terminator himself — Arnold Schwarzenegger

This week, Kalush presented their music video to their new track “Shchedryi Vechir” – which translates to “Generous Evening” in English.

The video has the band driving through the streets of Los Angeles and is inspired by video game Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. The main surprise however is the voice-over and the appearance of the world-famous actor and new friend of the group, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Kalush Orchestra release music video with Arnold Schwarzenegger

Oleh Psiuk, Kalush Orchestra frontman said: “Yo, when we were on tour in the USA, we shot a video for one of our songs. We didn’t even think that such a cool clip would be released. Previously, GTA – San Andreas was used to run on these streets, and now we made our interpretation of the shchedrivka there and visited Arnold Schwarzenegger.”

“The track was released that year, thanks for all your comments and feedback. As soon as the video was edited, we immediately decided to present it to you. Have a nice time.”

Kalush crossed paths with the former professional bodybuilder during a break between concerts on their charity tour in the USA.

Schwarzenegger invited the band to talk about the situation in Ukraine, and they, in turn, thanked him for their support and emphasized how important it is for Ukrainians. Arnie also commented Kalush Orchestra inspires him.

Wiwibloggs’ Tom Hendryk was lucky enough to have an exclusive chat with Oleh Psiuk last month, the pink bucket-hat wearing rapper and member of the biggest music group in Ukraine.

Oleh spoke about his time with Mr Schwarzenegger in LA. He said: “It was amazing. We were at Arnold’s home and never did I ever imagine we would visit him and shake his hand. It was a warm talk and he expressed his words of support to Ukrainians and is of course it’s pleasant to hear that from such people.

“Shchedryi Vechir” is available to stream now on Spotify and YouTube.

What do you think of the “Shchedryi Vechir”? Who else would you want Kalush to collaborate with in the future? Let us know in the comments.

Shouldn’t they fight in Ukraine against war. Instead they live a life, many American popstars can only dream of. At press conferences they always said, they would fight for Ukraine after Eurovision. Hypocrite!

Ok tell me ‘Euros’ (who I’ve never seen before around here) : How do you think Ukraine can stop the support of the west from fading away, which is essential to win the war, without raising awareness abroad?

They’re actually fighting for Ukraine, they’re just not on the front lines. There’s too many fronts and they’re in one of them: raising awareness of Ukraine’s situation and promoting Ukrainian culture throughout the world in a time when everything’s at stake for them.

imo, they are cashing in on the war. I think also the comments are correct that they are kind of fighting an info/entertainment front of the war. But, the lack of a peace message and lack of distance from ukrainian neo-facism taints the work, which is musically shallow. More generally, I am not a fan of ethnonationalism and militarism in pop culture. I would find this a turn the station moment if there radio airplay. I do support peace in the region and all forms of humanitarian assistance, to be sure.

Kalush have great taste in cities!

Hope you all enjoyed MY hometown! Let’s hope we’ll see more winners filming their videos in one of the best cities in the world: Los Angeles!
