Ireland is getting ready for another edition of the Eurovision special on Ryan Tubridy’s The Late Late Show. Six acts will stand on the stage in Dublin to compete for the right to represent the Emerald Isle at Eurovision 2023 across the water in Liverpool.Ahead of the grand final, we asked y’all to vote for the act you want to see lift the trophy. And after counting 2,147 votes, the results are in.
CONNOLLY a favourite to win Ireland’s Eurosong 2023
CONNOLLY emerged on top as your choice for Ireland at Eurovision 2023. You awarded CONNOLLY with 766 votes, or roughly 35.68% of all votes cast.
20-year-old singer-songwriter Jennifer Connolly, from Connemara, wrote her ballad “Midnight Summer Night” at the height of the pandemic. She told RTÉ earlier:
“The song conveys confusion and overwhelming detachment, but overall. the song implies that nothing bad lasts forever, delivering a sense of hope. To be in with a chance to share my song on such a legendary platform as Eurovision is amazing. It would be nothing less than a dream come true to bring Eurovision back home for Ireland once again.”
Second place in our poll went to Adgy. The part-Irish track “Too Good for Your Love” received 537 votes or approximately 25.01% of all votes cast.
Claiming the bronze medal is Leila Jane with “Wild”. In our poll, Leila picked up 310 votes — that’s 14.44% of the total vote.

Ireland Eurosong 2023
Ireland’s Eurosong 2023 takes place on 3 February. It will be held as part of a special episode of The Late Late Show, hosted by Ryan Tubridy.
The show will start at 21:35 GMT (CET + 1) on RTÉ One and in the RTÉ Player. Yes, the show indeed honours its name.
The result will be determined by a mixture of votes from three groups: a national jury, an international jury, and the public televote.

Connolly has the best song in this NF. Just a *little* re-tweak, this could actually be great. None of the other 5 is bad, but they all within the shades of ”okay” or ”so-so”. I guess that Adgy could elevate his track with adding Irish lyrics. All the ”possible” revamps for tonight make me curious, and are also the reason why I haven’t really rated this selection so far. But if they pick Connolly, Ireland will be my 1st so far.

At last, we will know the fourth song of this season. My thoughts are with Adgy and Wild Youth!
Unfortunately, Wild Youth will probably win and land Ireland another NQ.

I think Ireland should take the risk with Connolly. They’ve sent generic pop for a while now with no results… Ireland need to take risks to make the final they don’t get easy votes from anyone
I’m team Adgy tomorrow. I like Connoly’s song, but think it will get very lost at eurovision. To good for love is a great pop/club song, not always the most popular in eurovision voting, but is the kind of song you want to hear to dance to in the audience!
Connolly absolutely does have the best song, however, I do worry how much it would stand out with viewers (especially when the semi-finals are 100% televoting). Those sort of indie songs are very pleasant but are easily forgotten about after a first listen
Yup -agree… Add in we’re the third song on the first semi (Tuesday= no day) with all the Nordics, and no UK/Australia votes and we’ve got a battle on our hands just to be remembered to get out of the semi-final. I’m hopeful ADGY will blow the clothes of the audience on first play, and reinvigorate with the 15s reminders that play once voting starts.
