It’s funny how noone mentions Alise with Tricky. To me it was a clear standout, a bit better than Patrisha. Patrisha is very good too, but it gets repetitive at the end, while Alise has lots of breaks in between. It’s clearly inspired by K-Pop and I like it. But the obvious choice would be Sudden Lights.

Patrisha’s Hush is SO good. Weird as hell instrumental but it makes it interesting!

First off, what’s the point of having a semi-final in the first place only to shorten the list from 14 songs to 10? Iceland and Latvia like to throw money away, it seems. The juries from Spain understood the assignment (rating both studio songs and live performances), but the Latvian ones only seem to be rating lives. Otherwise, Inspo should have qualified. I feel like Raum and Sudden Lights would both be great choices for Latvia, and I could see these two actually breaking the NQ streak. Patrisha is also good, and could qualify, but the song does get a… Read more »

For me, there is no one else but Sudden Lights who should represent Latvia. Nothing against Patrisha, she is an artist in her own right but the song is just like “Funny Girl”, it feels kind of synthetic, produced just for Supernova. Aij?, on the other hand, I don’t even know if they can compete with other songs, but it is something that I can relate to, it gives me Latvian summer festival vibes, sitting under dark skies on a warm summer night at some alternative rock festival.

I like Patrisha. Her performance radiates energy and is interesting. The singer is a self-confident person not only in the performance itself, but in general in her professional career, so you can expect a lot from her. Unfortunately, the Inspo group did not have enough of this, and therefore it affected the result of the competition. It’s my opinion.

Ah, Latvia. The country that doesn’t have any native language songs in its NF. I couldn’t care less who they pick. Even Sweden has songs in Swedish in their NF ffs. Have some pride, Latvia.

Why does native language matter so much??

Alex

I don’t support Karls hostility about it, but I do agree with the point that I usually want to hear their native languages represented in selections in some form. And in some cases even a song with clumsy lyrics but a great melody and vibe can be salvaged by the song being in a language the listener doesn’t understand and can then not be thrown off by that. There’s several more reasons but the cultural diversity at Eurovision is always a big pull for me and if every year boiled down to English lanugage ballads and bops I wouldn’t be… Read more »

How about the weak vocals and mess of a performance?

Sabrina

Even if the vocals weren’t on point tonight, I still believe Inspo deserved to go through and have another chance. They would be one of the my favorites along with Sudden Lights and 24. Avenija (this one is probably too weird for many viewers, but I loved the vibe and it has one of the best interpretative dances I’ve seen on a while in an Eurovision context). Raum and Patrisha would be fine choices too, though “Hush” has a chorus that gets old pretty fast. Last but not least, Avei was a good surprise, I was sleeping on her. I’ll… Read more »

I think it will be between Patricia, Raum and Sudden Lights. I like Patricia best but not sure if she will do best at ESC. Maybe it’s smarter to send RAUM.

I like Patricia. Her performance is full of energy and it is interesting. The singer is a self-confident person not only in the performance, but in general in her professional career, so you can expect a lot from her. She makes a lot of cool radio shows. Unfortunately, the Inspo group did not have enough of this, and therefore it affected the result of the competition. It’s my opinion.

Only had time to catch up on my favs and must say I’m shocked INSPO is out but the lead female vocal was not rocky enough and didn’t fit the song or her band mates. Sudden Lights we’re great and that’s now probably my favourite and RAUM delivered another consistently good performance. And Arturs Hatti got through as well which was a very welcome surprise. He can’t really sing but that doesn’t matter to me, it’s such a vibe-y song

Now, four of these will not make the cut. I’m most nervous for the sings in the first half. Arturs should be out for being really off key for the first verse. And I would not be surprised if the other three eliminated acts would be Katrine, Alise and Adriana. But I’m also nervous for Justs and Luize. The others should be safe. As for the contenders, I would say, it’s between Patrisha, Raum and Sudden Lights. It pains me to say that Inspo will need to amp up their game if they want to be part of the game.… Read more »

After watching all of the performances, I do feel underwhelmed. Aija and Sway are my favourites still even though the performances felt empty, but I know that those songs will sound better on a bigger stage. RAUM was a pleasant surprise. PATRISHA had a great performance too.

“Aija” is a really good song, this odd meter in the verse (if I’m hearing this correctly, it’s a 5/4 rhythm which tunrs into a 3/4 in the chorus) makes this very dynamic. Vocally it was convincing, if im picky I would perhaps give him a little backing vocal support during the verses, but other than that he carries this impeccably. A clear contender, but we already knew that.

please let it be .. it makes me so happy to hear positive opinion from foreigners because our country mostly follows what the media says about the singers instead of song or talent … if everyone will write sensational news article about Love vibes then love vibes will go to final just like any other previous artist … last artist that was voted for with love was 2015 Aminata others were just from media reaction TT

Luize was starting her performance like Connolly yesterday with the back to the public. Vocally, this was rather shaky, and I think this would need a grander instrumentation. As it is, I do not see this as a contender for the win.
