Eurovision 2023 Guide to Super Saturday 11 February 2023

Strap in and get ready for a big night. Tonight, on the fabled Super Saturday, nine countries host shows to select their Eurovision Song Contest 2023 entries.

Tonight’s lineup sees finals in seven countries — which means seven more songs on the Eurovision 2023 playlist. Estonia, Romania, Denmark, Croatia, Latvia, Italy and Malta will choose their acts for Liverpool this evening. Elsewhere, we’ll also be keeping an eye on two heats in Sweden and Lithuania.

You can follow all the results via our Twitter and Instagram throughout the evening. And as usual, you can join in the conversation right here on wiwibloggs via our live discussion posts.

Here’s a quick rundown of what’s happening, when it’s on and how to watch.

Very happy with the choices of Estonia, Latvia, Romania, and Denmark. 🙂 Thanks, guys! I’m glad that this super-Saturday is already good. Now whatever wins in Italy, it will be at least solid, and I can deal with that! It’s a good day for Eurovision! 🙂

This has been a good day so far! We’re filling out the field with songs that are good or at least interesting, with a few great ones sprinkled in.

Can’t access the Danish livestream. It says “Confirm permanent Danish residential address with NemID or MitID signature and get access to all programs on DRTV.”

Snippets of the Swedish songs were bad again. Such ar boring show two weeks in a row. Let’s hope at least Loreen will be good at her heat.

I completely agree with you. Heat 2 is even worse than Heat 1…
I really hope Loreen doesn’t let us down and give us a good song!

Let’s hope that second half of songs are better than the first half or that Loreen has the best song of the selection. I dread the notion of Sweden being so weak that it could be vulnerable enough to risk their first non-qualification since 2010.

I would very much like to watch one or more national selections today. Unfortunately, I have no idea which ones would be the best and which ones are most worth watching. Can you recommend something? And if so, where can I watch it? Thanks in advance.

Whelp, we’re almost there at the first National Final. I want to wish everyone the best before this night of bloodshed and suprises.

In the words of Mr Rain from Italy’s Sanremo, ‘perché siamo invincibili vicini’ – That apparently means ‘Because we are invicible neighbours’ or along those lines!

My personal wishes for tonight:

  • Bad & Cool or DGT winning in Romania
  • Venom winning in Estonia (even if I’d be almost equally happy with Bridges and Lighthouse)
  • Aija or Fake Love winning in Latvia
  • Creeping Walls winning in Malta
  • Watching Dora and Sanremo, and *still* deciding on who my top favorites are. 🙂

Good luck to everyone!

Very good choices, Una! Also enjoy the shows. Lost and Found is in my top 4 in Dora, and one of options to vote for tonight. 🙂
I forgot to mention DMGP, but I’d be happy with I Was Gonna Marry Him, Breaking My Heart or Lige her.

I hope Alika wins in Estonia. HATED her song at the beginning but now it really stands out and I LOVE it with that last performance of hers! I think it could end up doing really well!

Cheering for Ultimo in Italy, Damir in Croatia, Reily in Denmark and nobody in Sweden. Good luck to Sissi, Ollie, M Els and Andreas in Estonia. As for Malta and Romania, I’ll only check out the winners, that will be enough.

I hope Damir Kedzo makes it. He was so brilliant in 2020 both before and after the cancellation. In fact I hope that all the class of 2020 eventually get their Eurovision chance, including Sandro.

Terribly excited by Malta – that is whether Busker and “Dance” will prevail (the rest is rubbish in my opinion). I’ve lined up my potential 12 points for Liverpool!

Not excited, as I’ve got favorites in 4 of these shows but they’ve all got very small chances of winning. Will obviously be following the big one, Sanremo, and will also try at some points to tune into Estonia (for the Meelik ensemble), Denmark (for Soren Lund) and Croatia (for Barbara Munjas and maybe a few of the supposed contenders).

uff a hard days night!
wonderful unbeatable sanremo is my mainevent.
lithuania semi 2 and crotia then in smaller windows.
the rest is cake for the night.
as balkan & slavic music fan normally i would watched romania too but this year the final is too weak – only one better song = fingers are crossed for Andreea D Folclor Orchestra.

I learned from last week to turn my VPN on. If you’re outside of Europe a VPN most likely is needed. Also, I really wish there wasn’t so many National Finals on the same day. Other weekends have like 1 or 2. Just harder for everyone to view them live.

I just want to let everyone know that Vesna’s music video is finally uploaded to the Eurovision Youtube Channel and they have been added to the list of participants page on the official website, so let’s cool it people.

God whoever think it’s gonna be easy to keep up with the national finals on super Saturday is dead WRONG! It’s going to be chaos! I wish whoever ran these national finals would spread them out so it’s easier to digest them! Like, this week has been pretty silent up until now disregarding Sanremo!
