The competition is heating up in Latvia. On Saturday 11 February — as a total of seven countries decide their who entires for Eurovision 2023 — Latvia makes its pick for Liverpool at the Supernova 2023 grand final.

Ten entrants have battled it out of the semi-final, making it though to tonight’s Supernova finale.

But before Latvia decides, the Wiwi Jury — our in-house panel of musical unprofessionals — has been busy listening to all the finalists’ entries. Now it’s time for them to reveal who their favourites are.

Let’s see who they think should qualify for Latvia this year!

Wiwi Jury: Supernova (Latvia Eurovision 2023)

Lucy

1. Patrisha – “Hush

In a relatively tame line-up for Supernova; the sass and finesse of Hush stands out. The Cherie is tight, the vocals are on point and the song brings something different to the Eurovision line-up. This is unashamed pure pop, but it’s done oh so well.

2. Raum – “Fake Love”
3. Arturs Hatti- “Love Vibes”
4. Markus Riva – “Forever”
5. Atai – “Let Me Go”

Pablo

1. Patrisha – “Hush

There’s something about “Hush” that inherently stands out, besides being well darn hooky. Patrisha is bringing that cool energy Justs and Aminata had on their time coming after a rut of non-qualification, and they managed to turn things around. I don’t see other country bringing this kind of brand in Liverpool, and this is the opportunity for Latvia to stand out in a great way.

2. Raum – “Fake Love”
3. Alise Haijima – “Tricky”
4. Markus Riva – “Forever”
5. Luize – “You to Hold Me”

Ruxandra

1. Patrisha – “Hush”

A very strong pop radio song with a great live performance! The song is really entertaining, not very deep suitable for a dance pop song. She has a very good vocal control during her live performance. This might be Latvia’s chance to get a good position in the final chart.

2. Alise Haijima – “Tricky”
3. Arturs Hatti – “Love Vibes”
4. Tom Kalderauskis – “When it All Falls”
5. Raum – “Fake Love”

Sebastian

1. 24 Avenija – “You Said

“You Said” is a MOOD. Putting the vision in Eurovision, “You Said” is less song, and more performance art. What’s most impressive about 24 Avenija’s performance is that it’s a creative concept cracked out and ready to cut and paste onto the Eurovision stage. I still don’t quite know what’s going on, but it’s an absolute vibe and stands out from the bunch.

2. Arturs Hatti – “Love Vibes”
3. Patrisha – “Hush”
4. Alise Haijima – “Tricky”
5. Avei – “Let Me Go”

Tom

1. Patrisha – “Hush

I love the chorus! Very Little Mix actually. A pop song with the catchiest of choruses that will leave me singing “Hush, Hush” for days! I can’t help but stomp my foot and clap throughout. Definitely the most crowd pleasing of entries out of the 10 finalists. It’s full of energy it’s radio friendly, what’s not too love? If this qualifies, they will need to elevate this on stage mind because I worry about it standing out from 39 songs.

2. Luize – “You to Hold Me”
3. Arturs Hatti – “Love Vibes”
4. Raum – “Fake Love”
5. Justs – “Strangers”

Really? The lack of taste here is almost embarrasing. Or just trying to benefit Patrisha. The comments below say it all. Can’t wait to see how you rip out the song and give Latvia a low score for the Wiwi Jury once Sudden Lights win.

Surprised not to see any Sudden Lights… they are most likely going to win.

Sudden Lights in none of the top 5? Well guess I’ll disagree with the juries there.

Same.. completely disagree with Wiwi juries this time. Sudden Lights is the best choice for Latvia, in my opinion.
