After climbing into the top five at last year’s contest, Serbia are hoping to keep a good thing going by selecting another strong entry for Eurovision 2023. They’ll continue this search during semi-final 2 of national selection Pesma za Evroviziju 23.

16 acts will be competing during the show, but only half of them will earn a ticket to the grand final.

Before Serbia has their say on the matter, we want to hear from you. Who do you want to qualify?

Poll: Who should qualify from Pesma za Evroviziju 23 semi-final 2?

We’ve limited the number of acts you can vote for to eight, since this is how many will qualify from the semi-final. Plus, you can only vote once!

PzE 23 show details

The two semi-finals of Pesma za Evroviziju 23 take place on Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd March. Eight acts from each will qualify for the the grand final on Saturday 4th March (that’s a 16-act final for some quick maths).

All will be held at broadcaster RTS’s studio in Belgrade. They’ll be hosted by Milan Marić and Dragana Kosjerina, whilst we’ll see Kristina Radenković and Stefan Popović in the green room.

The results of the three shows will be determined by a 50:50 split between the votes of a jury and the public.

Of course the people on this site default to voting for Hurricane. Probably haven’t heard the other songs, either.

Everyone is doubting Frajle. They’re a big name in Serbia and they hold a lot of weight. They’re definitely qualifying. Don’t think they’ll necessary win but their name alone will bring them to the final.

Eurotwinks again voting only for girl pop songs, Eegor is the best one here

I think people should pay attention to Egret, the song is very underrated and I think , if staged properly, it might be a surprise winner.

Obviously not as strong as the first SF, but I’ve still got 3 favorites who all have to at least qualify, Egret, Eegor and Dzipsii. The jury vote should also make sure that Hurricane 2.0 will not be contenders at all, as there are many much more interesting and deserving options.

The first semi-final is far stronger, and we will most likely get a winner from it.

For me Luke or Savo. And that is the most realistic.

Philip, Prince, Zayna and Huriccane already have a slightly smaller chance. However, their chances are not negligible either.

Everything except them ( except for the six mentioned above) will be a very big surprise and I don’t believe that it will happen again this year, as was the case last year.

Of the songs that are not favorites at all, and that could go to esc after the finals, I only see Egret as a potential representative.

From the second semi-final:

Hurricane, of course !!!

Zejna Zeina

Egret Egret

Ivona Yvonne

Filarri Philaries

An?ela Angela

Džipsi Gypsies

That would be it, the rest are almost irrelevant.

I’m finding ‘Greh’ and the Eegor song to be decently underrated this year by fans, so I voted them!

Semi-Final has ALL the best songs of this selection, apart from Hurricane and Eegor, who belong in SF2.

Unpopular opinion incoming: My favorite here is actually Eegor’s Starac dana. It’s an interesting song about an old tree. It offers something fresh. Rumba is also the one to watch out for. As a song, it’s just okay for me, but I can see it being a great performance piece, as Zejna is more than excellent. Hurricane’s song is, unsurprisingly, not for me, and the lyrics are really not the strongest. I expect it to be a solid stage show, and it’s okay for them to qualify. But Hurricane ahead of Luke Black would be a huge missed opportunity.

I also liked Eegor’s song. Seemed very Balkan ballady in a way.

I’ve latched onto a few of these: Egret, Dzipsii, Filarri and Nadia. Serbia can do better than Hurricane.

If they have to send a basic pop song, it should be “Dvojka tvog decka.” That song hits like a ray of sunshine on my playlists.

I agree that Semi Final 1 is a much stronger one. Most of my top 10 are there.
