Five different acts will battle it out in the grand final of Söngvakeppnin 2023 on Saturday, all hoping to follow in Systur’s footsteps and represent Iceland at Eurovision 2023. Four of these songs have been chosen by the Icelandic public over the course of two semi-finals and one wildcard has been added to the mix.
But before Iceland has its say for who should be their next representative, we would like to know who you think should win Söngvakeppnin 2023.
So scroll down and vote for your personal favourite to win. You can vote for as many songs as you like, but you can only vote once — so choose wisely.
Söngvakeppnin 2023 finalists
Despite having to sing in Icelandic during the semi-finals, acts are now able to swap language for the grand final. All songs except for “OK” have an English version that the artist can now perform.

The Söngvakeppnin 2023 final will air on Saturday 4 March, starting at 19:45 GMT.
Voting will be done over two rounds. Firstly, a 50:50 split of points from an international jury and the public televoting will select two acts to move onto the superfinal. In the superfinal, the public will be able to vote again for the winner, with the votes from the first round and superfinal being added together to determine the winner.

I think it’s either rockabilly band & Dilja.
But I think its the rockabilly band will win because it’s original & they are very famous in Iceland.
The song is so repetitive but it’s catchy at the same Time. But my favorite IS Dilja Please Icelandic people !!!

I liked the Iceland version of Sigga Ozk but not much the english version. Celebs is just an unlistenable cacophony.

“Power” is a song I have heard a million times before. Unoriginal and boring. “OK” is the same but I think it will win because it is catchier.
Just now, Langi Seli & Skuggarnir are the odds favs to win with a winning chance of 30%, ahead of Dilja at 25%.

I prefer Diljá’s song in Icelandic, but I think “Doomsday” has more appeal in English.
I like the English version of dancing lonely.
Langi Seli og Skuggarnir for me, without any doubt! I didn’t realize that Eurovision needs a rockabilly song before these guys came around. They stand out among all the other pop songs, and they’re doing their thing 100%. Even the way the lead singer stands is so true to the picture I have of music like this. And face it, they’re so true musically to what I believe was Liverpool in the early 60’s. So for me, they’re perfect for a Eurovision in Liverpool. And perfect for a guy close to 60, as me 😉

I like three of the five finalist, but honestly I don’t really care who wins next Saturday. Iceland is just not doing it for me this year.
My two favorites are not in the final. So I don’t care.

Gosh, this is not Iceland’s year, is it? None of these are really appealing to me. I guess Celebs is on paper the most interesting but their performance in the semi was just bad. Diljá, Sigga Ózk and Bragi are OK-ish but will struggle to stand out in Liverpool. Iceland should be pretty happy to be in semi 2.
bragi’s song is god awful. sigga’s is fun but will probably go unnoticed. and pls dilja’s is so powerful. Not the most over the top to stand out but her voice is just chef’s kiss, And yeah celebs are iconic

Easily Diljá for me! Really like her song! Sigga’s song is also so lovely, kinda retro vibe but in a great way!
Since I’ve lost any hope for this years national selections, I won’t let my self down on rooting for someone, and I hope the best to be chosen.
It feels likely that Iceland will send something I like but don’t necessarily love. Compared to what we’ve seen elsewhere, things could be a lot worse.
These songs aren’t that far off, except for OK, which is ironically not OK. I’d be between Sigga as the best package on stage and Celebs as the best song on paper. But I can’t say I’m that hyped for who wins here. All the best to Iceland anyway, and I love their ESC spirit.
I’m really not committed to the Icelandic national final this year, most of the entries leave me cold. There’s no real standouts in my eyes though there is definitely potential for qualification, I fear it will be a similar result to Systur last year though. It really makes me think the 2020-2022 era was just a fluke, hopfully they’ll prove me wrong next year.
That being said, Dilja’s Lifandi Inni i mer is the most memorable to me.
I think Doomsday Dancing has the potential to give a throwback to that era.

Diljá’s song is amazing, but it’s way more impactful in Icelandic.

“Ok” and “Sometimes the World’s Against You” should be nowhere near being an option but it’s not like any of the other three are without major issue either. Both “Doomsday Dancing” and “Dancing Lonely” suffer from poor performances and “Power” is Paper with slightly different letters.

I’mma predict Diljá and either Langi Seli or Celebs (they only missed out on auto qualifying by 2 votes in the semi, its def open) will make the superfinal and of those its gonna be totally random, but don’t be shocked if we end up sending OK, most Icelanders over 35 will vote like crazy for it
