They’re turning the UK’s Eurovision pre-party into their own party. Malta’s The Busker are confirmed for the London Eurovision Party 2023.

On Sunday 16 April, the Maltese trio will perform “Dance (Our Own Party)” in London at the UK’s biggest and best Eurovision warm-up party. The Busker joins a star-studded lineup as they perform their track  in front of 2000 eager Eurovision fans at the state of the art HERE at Outernet venue.

The Busker to perform at London Eurovision Party 2023

The Busker’s current line-up got together in 2020 in Malta. The band consists of Dav Jr on vocals and guitar, Sean Meachen on saxophone and Jean Paul Borg on drums. Dav, Sean and Jean will fly the Maltese flag in Liverpool after winning the Malta Eurovision Song Contest with 121 points, beating out runner-up Ryan Hili by a 36 point margin.

Their Eurovision song “Dance (Our Own Party)” is about escaping a large-scale event to break away with a group of friends for their own more intimate party, to escape the anxiety of crowds.

London Eurovision Party 2023

The London show will be a chance for our stars to perform for a British crowd before they make the trip up north to Liverpool in May.

The London Eurovision Party takes place on Sunday 16 April at HERE at Outernet. More tickets to the sold-out show may be released at a later date.

They did Malta dirty with that damn death slot. Well yeah their qualifications chances were already pretty slim, but now they’ve got virtually no chance. I just hope I won’t be this pessimistic on sf-1 night and maybe they might just scrape through. People remember to vote!(as if anyone’s gonna remember Malta when the big shots Sweden & Finland are there)

I think that the stigma of no 2 slot in Eurovision should end. They deserve to qualify

It’s not a stigma it’s a statistic…

Ever since the RO has been decided by the producers (since 2013), out of 18 entries that performed 2nd in the semi, the following qualified:

  • Estonia 2013
  • Armenia 2015
  • Poland 2016
  • Austria 2017

That’s 22% of qualifications. Not promissing, but not impossible to beat.
