With all semi-finalists now having had one go on the Eurovision 2024 stage, it’s time to move on to the second stage. Wednesday sees all 15 acts from semi-final 1 returning to Malmö Arena for another chance to perfect their performances.

This time around, they’ll have 20 minutes to undertake another few run throughs and to check whatever changes they requested following the first rehearsal.

The EBU will release photos and clips on YouTube, which will likely come as one big roundup at the end of the day. We’ll try to update this post as things drop. Regardless, please share your thoughts in the comments section throughout the day!

So I’m going to put my neck out and say that I believe these will be the qualifiers based on block voting, strong songs and impressive staging from the recent 2nd rehearsal clips. Croatia, Serbia and Slovenia. Block countries these are so they are very likely give some points to each other , strong songs and staging are alright. Ukraine definitely qualify and I believe Poland do alright and will qualify. Ukraine and Poland will likely vote for each other for each other as they are neighbours and very strong song from Ukraine and good staging. Moldova a neighbour country… Read more »

I think This Semi final is stronger compared to Semi final 2, my opinion 🙂

I liked Croatia’s staging, also Lithuania 🙂 Ukraine’s song is not my cup of tea; boring 🙁 another war-theme song (sorry but it’s true) but good colours for staging.

Moldova, Iceland, Slovenia, Australia would not qualify, it is obvious.
If qualifies, Serbia’s chance of being in top10 is low.

I feel the same way as Jimmy. Portugal totally stands out. The staging is really good and perfectly fits the song. Also Iolanda may be the best vocalist of this SF. If Portugal doesn’t make it to the final while Finland does, we can officially question Europeans taste.

Qualifiers: Australia, Croatia, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Ukraine

Feelings aside, there’s certain songs that appeal to the general public and shouldn’t be overlooked because X artist didn’t win national selection. Good luck to all!

Cyprus – youthful abandon, nice visuals, a bit familiar but a good opener nonetheless Serbia – bit worried about this, the staging looks a bit empty, is it going to tap into the mood of the listener? Lithuania – and so the party begins! This is a total banger – serious contender Ireland – totally pops out, this is captivating, I can’t see a world where this doesn’t go through Ukraine – goosebumps! Almost in tears in just a very short clip, the staging is perfect, the struggle, the climb, very emotional Poland – this is a massive ball of… Read more »

Controversial opinion coming. I am amazed by how much the fandom is influenced by a dozen fans who overreach about Ireland’s entry. First, it was not to qualify, then it was to qualify, now it’s for the win. I respect other people’s opinions and tastes, no doubt. I feel it’s an influence dragged by a few and then human psychology takes hold and everyone believes what the many others believe. Let’s be honest: the Irish entry is likely not to qualify for the shock of many in here. I am talking about the contest part of the topic, if it… Read more »

Also, yes, we fans sometimes don’t say the truth or avoid unpopular opinions but it’s this blend of opinions that makes the forum alive.

I remember last year’s mass hysteria and assaults by people who insisted that Spain would win with Aea.

Also, the visuals are weak (unless they use other visuals in the end) and the stage looks empty. Most importantly, the message of the song is not coming through.

In the semi you cannot downvote a song, only upvote and alot of the semi voting is from the random, Ireland winning the semi is very possible.
When it comes to the final unfortunately I don’t see Ireland winning although I would love it but that’s when I think the divisive nature of the song will become negative and likely result in a strong televote but weaker jury vote

There are many ways to win, the traditional way is the one with the most votes for a song on one night and get a teophy… The other winners are those who impress and garner the most long term fans, and have the skills to keep generating content to keep and grow those fans. Bambie is that kind of winner… In my opinion, based on what I’ve been listening since January. Smart Shuffle of Bambie, Misfits 2.0 etc

They came for the crown, not the trophy.

Am I the only one who thinks that they need to work on the camera angles, especially with Croatia?

Probably not, because that’s what rehearsals are for. To determine what needs improvement.

The more I see from and read about the rehearsals, especially seeing the songs together rather than as stand alones, the more I think Ireland really is a dark horse.

Just saw the 2nd rehearsal clips on youtube. Some notes:

1. Is it me or most videos have a lot of distant shots? It makes me disconnect from the artists and the songs.
2. Ukraine is overrated. Yes the song is good and staging is ok but I do not see the hype.
3. Poland has some very bad vocals on those rehearsals.
4. Ireland has the best rehearsal clip for today in my opinion.

Waiting for tomorrow’s rehearsals, mostly excited about seeing those from Switzerland and Greece.

I agree with the Ukraine; it is overrated just because it is Ukraine.

Like they ever had a chance? They are basically done after they were caught bribing juries. Which explains some of their placements in the last decade and probably the worst song ever winning unexplainably.

For the record, I’ve got no problem with bribing juries. At 3.5 odds, it would be really nice if they were to get the 10th qualification spot.

Everyone has different musical taste and this deserve respect 🙂 But I really find Ukraine’s song is overrated and overhyped just because it is Ukraine.
The song boring; staging is good but the most important one is the song but it is like funeral church songs 🙁

Don’t want another 2022 pity voting because there are better songs than Ukraine.

Ukraine staging is very effective, it elevates an otherwise bit unexciting song (I love the chorus though). Can’t see it Top-10 in the final.

Personally I love what the pink costume does. It forces the audience to view Nemo as an outsider, and makes him look vulnerable which reflects what he is feeling in the song. At the same time the wings signify the potential to fly and reach great things. I’m not usually into this kind of whiny stuff, but for me this worked.
