Another day, another set of Eurovision 2024 second rehearsals. Friday sees the remaining seven acts from semi-final 2 returning to the Malmö Arena for another chance to perfect their performances.

This time around, they’ll have 20 minutes to undertake another few run throughs and to check whatever changes they requested following the first rehearsal.

The EBU will release photos and 30-second teaser clips in a roundup on YouTube, though individual broadcasters may decide to share them on social media earlier. We’ll try to update this post as things drop. Regardless, please share your thoughts in the comments section throughout the day!

Spiritual staging of Hurricane.
Her ripped dress and the dancers with their simple shorts and loose shirts dusty by the storm.
Dancing between life and the hereafter, trying to hold each other in the storm.

I wonder how they will perform the 3 quiet parts on stage. The first part and the piano, the silence and the end with the little guitar.

The double morality on this site is pretty astonishing.. Some things are fine to attack and some things are not. But the cruelty can be on the same level, but just as long it doesn’t concern you personally it’s totally okay.

I don’t know what The Netherlands is doing. We were promised something spectacular, but what I’ve seen so far doesn’t impress me one bit. So either they’re not showing or they really exaggerated. I’m going to be so mad if they manage to ruin this, because with the right staging this could be a potential winner.

I hope so. There are a lot of theories going around on the Internet about this act. And I too feel that this can’t be it. But how do they hide a major twist at this point? We should be able to spot something on the released photos and vids.

The Netherlands can easily win the televote. 200+ points. It is up to the juries if Joost wins, and I am not sure they will like the blue bird and the circus. I think they can score a lower top 10 with juries.

They could choose what fragments of their rehearsal would be put out online.

He admitted in an interview recently he doesnt like when images/vids of their rehearsals are being published. Joost wants to keep the surprise untill SF2 when he is performing his song on the eurovision stage.

I hope they know what they are doing.
But with Gabbers its hit or miss. So could be this one.

4th even. But I totally agree. Europapa is more slick and has more layers and twists than Cha Cha Cha and Rim Tim Tagi Dim. And this is not me dissing Käärijä or Baby Lasagne, I love them both. I just think Europapa is even better. But to go from like top-5 to actually winning it needs the right staging, it needs a little extra.

Oh, boohoo, we get it, you don’t like Marina’s entry, it’s fine, that doesn’t mean however that you have to degrade and mock her efforts 20 times per day in this forum (you and Anna aswell). Stanning a song you like is acceptable, you have every right to do so. Stanning a song you hate, however, by constantly bashing on it is another level of crazy, I’m sorry. And that’s pointing towards me as well because I hate Finland’s song this year with passion, but I got over the need to express this all the time in the comments. You… Read more »

You don’t understand. This year hurts differently, because of the level of expectation and hype around the entry. Defending it now and pretending like nothing is wrong, isn’t going to help or change the fact that Greece has a bad entry. Why is she pulling the handkerchief from her shoe and not from behind her back? It looks so clumsy?

Fans after pre parties: “We are worried that Mustii can’t sing and will fail” (rightly so)

Mustii during the rehearsals: *show that he can actually sing”

Fans: “yeah but too late, we’ve decided that we don’t like him anymore”

I really hope people will still support him enough for him to make it to the final. I don’t care what score he has then but what a crime it would be to leave that song in SF

On this I can agree as well. The fact that there are odds also plays a bad role. The singers want to have fun at the pre-parties, they may not give their 100% and then they fall in the odds. Lower place in the odds = less exposure pre-contest = they then have a disadvantage during actual ESC.

In my eyes was obvious from the beggining that she would face serious issues with her vocals. She never try to sing and dancing real live…and she always tried to hide, for obvious reasons now (a lot of Gr entries did exactly the same in the past, no preparties, no real live etc). Luck of professionalism is the main cause Greece is so failed in the competition the last years. That’s why Greece avoid to try national finals decades now. Lack of real professional artists and composers.

I still think ‘Hurricane’ could be the shock NQ from this set. Every year there are a lot of Israeli stans online, bigging up their entry as the best thing since the Moon Landing. But they cannot vote for their own country and I think any foreign audience sympathetic to Netanyahu just won’t be watching an ESC Semi. That means that ‘Hurricane’ has two battles. One is the same as every other song, which is to win over a large enough part of the audience. I’m not sure this song has enough going on to do that. Yet, even if… Read more »

I saw it just weeks ago on April 6th. Needless to say, amazing. Electric atmosphere. I lost count of many Agnethas there were in the crowd fully costumed in her iconic Waterloo blue.

Flashback to Malmö 2013.

The songs were over, the intervals were concluding, the voting was due to start any minute. Cue the opening strains of The Winner Takes It All… for one brief moment I thought Agnetha had appeared onstage. She had just released a brand new album the previous day.

Alas, it was Sarah Dawn Finer.

Netherlands’ stage is disappointing; looks childish and cringe.
Dutch team so much overhyped their staging, and it flopped

No changes possible.
But every country can decide what will be published. We see only half a minute of the 3 minute songs.
We didn’t see photos of the ending yet, so that could be a surprise.

No. If they qualify, it will be because they have a hand-crafted Dardust number performed adequately.

Conspiracy time: I think Luxembourg wanted back in and then realised if they go too hard as a returning country they could end up having to host. Thereafter the goal changed. I think they probably will qualify but if it weren’t for them being a returning country no way would this get through. It’s one of the weakest songs of the year.

i am beginning to see Belgium more and more as a possible nq, that song too is just so repetitive, compared to Mustii’s other work as well, a different song, one similar to ”after dark” or ”new becoming” would’ve been safe top 10 potential, this is just bland and that staging i am not a fan of

Just saw San Marino rehearsal, it’s very interesting and very good indeed. A qualification would be fair. I’m not impressed with Estonia but I don’t like the song so it plays a lot. I like the colours they chose for the staging though. Also in a fair world people would stop to spit on Belgium because Mustii’s vocals clearly are on point. The staging might not be incredible but it fits the song and Mustii stayed true to himself. Not saying this only because I’m Belgian but it would be a complete shame not to see him qualifying for the… Read more »

In difficult times like we have now, we don’t want to be out of everything that’s good, like Eurovision.
We want life to keep on going, it’s bad enough when the entire country is in a depressed mood for over half a year already…
Israel is also not the one causing controversy, we’ve been competing since 1973, and it’s not our first war.
People just went crazy with this one…
