We’ve made it to the final day of Eurovision 2024 second rehearsals. On Saturday, the six automatic qualifiers will be returning to the Malmö Arena for another chance to perfect their performances.

This time around, they’ll have 20 minutes to undertake another few run throughs and to check whatever changes they requested following the first rehearsal.

The EBU will release photos and 30-second teaser clips in a roundup on YouTube, though individual broadcasters may decide to share them on social media earlier. We’ll try to update this post as things drop. Regardless, please share your thoughts in the comments section throughout the day!

After their rehearsal, each of the Big Five will also draw their half in the grand final, or draw the new producer’s choice that gives the organisers free rein on where to put them in the running order. Hosts Sweden previously drew their placement at the Heads of Delegation meeting in March — Marcus & Martinus will open the grand final in spot #1.

Eurovision 2024 rehearsal schedule | Day 7 (Friday 3 May)

Have you seen the news on Ukraine’s entrant? They stated in interview that of Ukraine wins; they would sell the Eurovision trophy and donate the money ?

This boring song doesnt deserve winning; let alone top5..They are using this song contest for their donation ? This contest should not be charity organization for Ukraine :/

Maybe they want to get attention that Ukraine is donating for good so they can get votes to win, Ukraine love winning as they tried hard and already got 3 victory between 2003 and 2022. Russia war on Ukraine worked for Ukraine as they kicked Russia out and Ukraine won in 2022. Sorry Ukraine you are not gonna win this year

So far UK has the BEST staging based on the clips we have seen. Looks great on screen. My favourite Norway looked bad on screen and they really need to work on camera angels, but that’s the same with many many others…so I have a feeling not everyone are showing the real footage…

Jeez, when I was coming home from school, I used to walk from my bus station through the line of sex workers. That was the state of affairs in former Eastern block, so I really don’t understand this puritan approach of “oh, it’s a family show”.

If I had to predict on the Big5 + Sweden, I would say:
Spain – Bottom 5
Germany – Bottom 5 or at best 18th
UK – around 15th
Sweden – Between 8th and 11th
France – Between 4th and 6th but I think more 4th (1st or 2nd with juries)
Italy – Top 3

I like Sweden, it’s in my top 5 and a lot of Eurovision fans tend to underestimate the country due to an excessive hate. I think it will be top 10 with both juries and public thanks to the staging. But we’ll have to see because they go first and even if they changed the voting system, I think people will wait before voting and forget a bit about them.

1) Germany : Around 20-26th; possibly 18th
2) UK: Probably around 24-26th (They shouldnt expect any jury points for this staging)
3) Spain: Bottom 5
4) France: Not sure but around top 10-15
5) Sweden: Plastic song; deserves no higher than 12-14th places
6) Italy: TOP3 !

Spain was an obvious bottom 5 from the first moment. There is not enough audience for such songs in ESC, and those dancers could be too much for many people. The package comes out a bit cheap and amateur.

Nobody is talking about Sweden. It has what it takes for a top 5, and we fans are so upset with Swedish songs that we don’t want to see it.

I don’t understand the hate towards UK’s staging (or rather I know where it’s coming from but nevermind). I think it’s very clever and memorable and elevates the song.

France is OK, but I wish he would skip lying on the stage. Maybe the director is trying to keep the viewers busy and attached to the performance. I think it’s useless.

UK’s staging shows how we fans are more conservative than it seems. It’s not brutal or aggressive, but it’s also not too far from an intimate scene in a gay sauna. At least this staging is the only reason we even talk about the UK entry.

The dude is holidaying in Malmo on German public money, going through the motions on stage like it’s karaoke night at his local pub and that’s not offensive to us as fans? And we’re supposed to respect his (lack of) effort and pretend like it’s ok?

Actually yes. Knowing how many great German artists there are that would have given their absolute all to represent their country and would have put on a fantastic show, but are consistently overlooked – I do get offended by that. I also get offended by his lack of effort, when I look at a list of semi finalists that have put in so much energy, but will likely not make the cut for Saturday night. That’s sad.

Hope that producers would position Italy in the 2nd half; between 20-26th positions.
It would be not good if they put this song in the 1st half.

I have a feeling that they put it in the 1st half, between 5-10th positions.

Maybe, they want to end the first round of countries with Italy and then go to the break

2nd half suits better for this song 🙂
Producers also couldn’t still find who leaked Italy’s stand in rehearsal although I should not be leaked.

I can’t know if they are trolls, people from other countries who find themselves threatned by UK possibilities of winning or homophobic people or all of the above together. We live in a scary world oh boy. It’s just a song competition and we should all suport each other and enjoy it, guess what in a few days we’ll be all depressed with postESC depression and we will have to wait another year to enjoy this again. Go support your favorites and let the ones you dont apreciate much to others to enjoy it. Peace

The weakest argument is the ‘its a family show’ argument. In other words, you can be gay but don’t be TOO gay or make any suggestion that you – GASP – have sex

There are no gay people in families. Hetero only. It’s a strict policy. Hetero only breed other heteros. Gay children are delivered by the gay stork.

Italy changed not only the outfits but according to some spoilers, they changed the choreography, some LEDs, and the style of the performance

They improved it, a lot!
Angelina really wants to give an amazing performance.

Apparently some reps from the Albanian broadcaster are talking about censoring the UK’s performance. I don’t remember that reaction when Chanel basically had her a$$ out while singing about making an On1yFans. Yet, there are plenty of European gay men in these comments that will collude with the people who’d like them not to exist rather than support what Olly is doing.

Hype, fake news, absolute nonsense, I’m starting to wonder where these negative comments and trolls are coming from and I have my suspicion it’s from a certain country in the ESC who are critical of Olly from day 1. I say no more because it’s a personal assumption. Sorry, but these tactics are not working if it’s true. We move on!

I remember that story Jonas. It was a Chinese broadcaster that was showing Eurovision live that year. They censored Ireland’s performance and they were kicked out of broadcasting Eurovision for good. Broadcasters can’t censor any performance – it’s against the rules. That’s why the producers review every performance and make sure that there are no issues.

We only saw a 30-second clip, not the entire 3 minutes. Olly and his team know what they are doing, They are performing and dancing and the staging looks great. This is art. Stop being conservative and let them perform, let them do their best, nothing is over the top, otherwise, the EBU would have said no, so just enjoy the show. This is going to get a lot of votes you know from both the juries and the public. Eurovision 24 is about change breaking new boundaries, Ireland has done it, the UK with its stage performance have done… Read more »

Nearly 70% of the English (not British, so without counting Northern Ireland, Wales, Cornwall, Scotland, Manx) are ethnically Celtic. Lots of people don’t know about it but it’s true:

https://www.scotsman.com/arts-and-culture/were-nearly-all-celts-under-the-skin-2480644

Same in France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Spain; millions of Celts who don’t know it.

“Nothing is over the top”. Depends on what your top is. EBU also allowed a man wearing a thong to go like this on stage and put himself in such a position that you could easily think he is naked during the first seconds of the performance. Nobody will die because of that but you can clearly question the artistic choice.

I partly agree with what you say but you make some kind of shortcut here. Yeah there are people dying in some countries because of homosexual relations and it is terrible. I couldn’t agree more and I’m so thankful to live in one of the most open minded country in the world. But is this once again a reason to hypersexualise a performance that didn’t need to be? Will this performance help the acceptance of homosexuals in this world? I don’t think it will.  Anyway, I take the time to discuss because I have it but as I also said… Read more »

I’m not British but to be honest, I’m really grateful for them this year. I’m tired of tip-toeing around the worst people on this continent who have a meltdown over any kind of erotic tension between men (NEVER when it’s sexualising women though). The backwardness needs attacking head on. I don’t care if they come last, what the UK has done is much bigger than that and they’re getting my vote.
