Eurovision fans in Brazil, Canada, the Philippines, Tanzania and beyond: The Rest of the World vote for Semi-Final 1 of Eurovision 2024 is now open.

Fans in non-participating countries have nearly 24 hours to cast a vote for their favourites. You can do so at the link https://www.esc.vote/

You’ll have to watch clips of every single performance before you can vote.

Eurovision 2024: Rest of World voting now open for Semi-Final 1

On Monday evening, the 15 artists competing in Semi-Final 1 performed in what was formerly known as the “jury show.” But now that the semis are jury-less, that show serves as a “back-up” for producers — it’s taped and can be aired in case something goes wrong with the transmission on Tuesday evening.

Shortly after the conclusion of the show, snippets were taken and uploaded to the voting site. These are what you’ll be judging. Voting closes at 21:00 CEST on Tuesday when Semi-Final 1 begins. It will reopen after the final act — Tali from Luxembourg — performs.

Here’s how the EBU described this expanded time window earlier this year:

“Fan in non-participating countries (Rest of The World) will now have nearly 24 hours to vote for their favourite songs before each of the live shows begins.”

“Online voting will open for the Rest of The World immediately after the second dress rehearsal for each Semi-Final and Grand Final finishes the previous night and stays open until the live shows begin.”

The Rest of the World vote is added together and has the same weight as a single country. That means it will contribute to 1/16th of the overall vote.

Poll: Who did you vote for in the Rest of the World voting?

So, who did you vote for? Let us know down below…

Not against Croatia, I’m not a fan of the song but I don’t mind it winning either, I just don’t understand the lead that Baby Lasagna now has in the odds :p I mean I understand the first place but if he’s that far from the others now it means that a lot of people are now betting on him. His rehearsals have been good without being impressive so I’m trying to find if I missed something on the past 2 days. At this point, I really don’t know who will win this Eurovision. There are like 3 countries that… Read more »

The odds show who is being placed more betts. Apparantly there are a lot of people that are betting on him. And most of these people are not into the very details of Eurovision scoring system, and dont overthink the jury, the politics and so on

Every since Croatia got to the final of the world cup 2018 and they invited Thompson to sing at the celebratory party, and Ustaše references started popping up everywhere, I’ve felt very wary of Croatia. I feel like the country is going through a phase and I only hope that they come out the other side better off.

Love it, Italy always delivers in ESC. It could win if televote/juries go for different songs as I think it will be high with both but I see it almost certainly top 5.

I don’t understand why ‘the rest of the world’ can vote in all three shows, but half of the countries that actually pay to participate, are excluded from voting in one. Makes zero sense.
I understand that letting ‘the rest of the world’ vote has been implemented to engage more viewers and thereby gain more money for the EBU, and I don’t mind that part, but then let it actually be open to the rest of the world – that includes all participating countries regardless of which semi-final.

Good question.

I don’t know what rotw means, but clearly the whole thing is a money grab and the priority is not providing a fair voting system.

One jury? I don’t follow?
But the vote from people in 19 additional countries (who are likely more invested, being participants themselves) would with high probability affect the result.

I really don’t get the Croatian entry. There are several quality entries this year and Baby Lasagna isn’t one of them. Best of luck to the guy, but if he wins I’ll be scratching my head. No hate towards him at all.

It’s a good and catchy song. Many people can relate to it. I still feel it is not going to win. It will win the televote like Finland last year but will that be enough to win the whole thing? We will see. I would not mind Croatia winning, it’s been a long time since a country won it for the first time. I would prefer Switzerland to win though; it’s my fav song.

I understand what fans thinks of Ukraine, but we have to be honest: there isn’t that much to choose from.
We also can’t ignore that they sing in their own language, they sing good, the rap part, and mama Tereza. They do have what it takes for top 10, but in other year it could be just 8th-12th or about.

A win would be great but it would still be a massive step forward if Ireland finished in the top 5 which I think it will. This will mean great things for Bambie’s artistic career but will mean that Ireland will move beyond safe- Ireland will be a contender.

Now it’s called Evening Preview Show but if I understood correctly last year, there are still juries watching and noting semi finals, in case a problem happens with the public votes of a country. I’m not sure of that though. Can someone confirm (or prove me wrong)?

i wasn’t that sure if they were doing same as last year, all a bit confusing for me but okay, yeah then i agree Iceland, Moldova are kinda chanceless, i also fear for Australia then, Azerbaijan not sure they could sneak in (instead of a Cyprus maybe) since they are doing what general public wanted from them send more authentic homegrown entries, and i feel Poland is in trouble as LUNA isn’t the strongest of singers and that song isn’t the most original Serbia has a unfavorable position but still performing after a generic cyprus surely helps a native language… Read more »

I wouldn’t read too much into these results. A lot can change in 24 hours and it’s only one of 16 votes. What is also really interesting this year is the lack of unanimity among polsters Italy, Switzerland and Croatia vie for the top slot but there’s huge disparity about the other potential qualifiers.

I think that there are 4 safe qualifiers from this semi: Croatia, Ireland, Ukraine and Lithuania. They are all from the first half of the semi which means that some other songs from the same half might suffer and end up missing on qualification. I think that Serbia stands out enough being the only slow song and actually well performed so that leaves Cyprus and Poland. Poland has many friendly voting countries (UK, Germany, Ireland, Lithuania) when Cyprus has none, so this might be enough to push them through to the final, but there is also a chance that all… Read more »

Vote for what? It’s not even known what the acts finally look like. Is this also a Swedish idea?

Please don’t assume someone else will vote for X, Y, or Z because of odds… Vote for who you love… Let the numbers lay as they may. It can scue the qualifiers. No jury… Just you guys. Enjoy tonight.

I’m Dutch, too bad I can’t vote tonight in this semi. But can I say how proud I am of Ireland? Remember when we where talking about their next NQ? I know for sure I’m proudly voting for them in the Grand Final <3
