Perhaps one of the most striking examples of suspicious voting in the post-Eurovision 2013 scandal is what happened in Montenegro. According to the official reults posted on Eurovision. tv, in the first semi-final, the Balkan country awarded 12 points to Ukraine. Fair enough. In the Final, however, Montenegro gave 12 points to Azerbaijan, 10 points […]
Noyz and Dedduh—the two halves of Montenegro’s Who See—have been winning us over in recent days with their “party on Mars”-themed stage act. We loved their first rehearsal and cannot wait to wear a cosmonaut outfit to our next rave in an abandoned warehouse! When Nina Zizic, their official hype girl, swoops into the song on her […]
Wiwi: Attention, Europe: Who See have landed at Eurovision—and they’ve brought their space suits with them. During today’s first rehearsal Who See unveiled their out of this world staging, which might have you thinking someone has slipped LSD into your drink. Boyz and Dedduh wore astronaut suits while rapping in plumes of smoke, all set against bright […]
This afternoon the Wiwi Jury—our in-house panel of music unprofessionals—caught a plane, a bus, a boat and mule to Podgorica. Or was the noise simply too much to handle? […]
So when I first heard that Who See—a Montenegrin hip-hop group—would be singing at Eurovision I LOL-ed and thought Montenegro had totally given up on ever making the final. But after listening to their entry “Ingranka” and learning that it features Nina Zizic, I’m starting to take them seriously.
In leaner times governments don’t want to host Eurovision. Fair enough. But it’s a step too far for those governments to force their state broadcasters to sabotage the nation’s chances by selecting sub-par acts.
Vebooboo: If we were to judge Eurovision by the quality of the first act this year, then nobody would splash out on a ticket to Baku. Rambo Amadeus opened up the second rehearsals today with another appalling performance of his song “Euro Neuro.” Even the people at eurovision.tv felt so bad that they only recorded […]
Wiwi: It looks like the recession has hit Montenegro hard. This morning Rambo Amadeus showed up in Baku with a wooden horse, seemingly painted by schoolchildren who have not yet perfected the art of coloring. He then stood in place while shouting into a microphone. “We are a bit neurotic about the big changes that […]
