With the 32 songs not yet released, it’s impossible to predict who will win Melodifestivalen 2011 just yet. But fear not: Wiwi and Veboo shall provide! Over the next few days we’ll be uploading the lists of key contestants to watch out for in each of the four semifinals.
A new logo isn’t the only thing that has changed ahead of this year’s Melodifestivalen, Sweden’s qualification competition for Eurovision. After an embarrassingly poor performance at last year’s ESC, Melodifestivalen’s organisers have drastically changed the selection process for the Swedish competition’s 32 entries in an effort to increase the eventual winner’s chances for European success.
Last May Sweden was knocked out during the semi-finals for the first time in its storied Eurovision history. But with the announcement of the first four contestants for Melodifestivalen 2011, its national selection contest, Sweden is dusting itself off and hopping back on the Eurotrash saddle.
