France sent a classic chanteuse in 2009, and a Congolese hip-shaker in 2010, so we knew its 2011 selection could come from left field. And it has! On February 4 state broadcaster France 3 announced that Corisican opera singer Amaury Vassili is headed to Düsseldorf. He’ll sing ‘Sonniu’ (Dream) in Coriscian, and will debut the song in the coming weeks.
The taut singer has already released two albums—Vincero and Cantero—and has pushed more than 250,000 albums off the shelves. Building on that popularity, and his natural good looks, Amaury will likely challenge in Wiwi’s annual search for Eurovision’s Next Top Male Model—the prestigious Internet search for ESC’s sexiest male performer (sorry bands, Wiwi and Vebooboo don’t do groups). You can listen to Amaury in action (musically speaking) below, and also watch an interview on French TV. Love, Wiwi
