For weeks bloggers and pollsters have suggested that Nikki Ponte, the recently-eliminated Greek X-Factor contestant, will win the right to represent Greece at Eurovision 2011. Now that Greek broadcaster ERT has released full versions of this year’s Eurovision finalists (below), will Nikki remain in pole position?
Wiwi has been running a Greek Eurovision poll since February 9—the day ERT released snippets of the songs. Here are the standings as of February 16 at noon:

Even though it’s still a close call and Nikki puts up a very professional effort despite her very young age, I think it’s a foregone conclusion that Loukas will represent Greece in Dusseldorf. His song perfectly captures the national spirit in this time of crisis and reactions in the country since the songs were unveiled on Tuesday were overwhelmingly in his favour. People are really proud to listen to a song that represents their culture, their music and their language at their very best.
