Azerbaijan’s Ell & Nikki are the bookies’ early favorite, but Hungary’s Kati Wolf and Norway’s Stella Mwangi are breathing down their necks.
The Azeri duo who are singing “Running Scared” currently stand at 9/4, just ahead of Kati Wolf (“What About My Dreams”) who is at 11/4. Stella (“Haba Haba”) is slightly further back at 4/1. After these three entries, the odds go up significantly. Russia, Turkey and Finland are currently at 9/1. Greece, Poland, Georgia and Serbia round out the Top 10 who would advance to the final based on these odds. Notably, perennial Eurovision favorite Armenia would NOT advance. Apparently the bookies aren’t so keen on Emmy’s “Boom Boom.”
The results of Wiwi’s ongoing poll “Who Will Win the First Semi-Final at Eurovision 2011” seem to confirm eight of the ten countries the bookies believe will advance to the final. However, in Wiwi’s poll Finland’s Paradise Oskar and Serbia’s Nina would NOT advance; they would be replaced by Armenia’s Emmy and Albania’s Aurela Gace in the final.
Also, Wiwi’s poll suggests that Poland’s Magdalena Tul has a strong chance of winning the second semi-final. She currently holds 25% of all votes. Hungary’s Kati Wolf is second with 15%.
