When he isn’t slapping his assistants and dragging them across the floor by their hair, Russian Eurovision diva Filip Kirkorov enjoys recording covers of Eurovision songs. So the slap-happy star recently teamed up with Russian songstress Kamalyia to record a cover of “Playing with Fire,” the 2010 Eurovision entry from Romania (which placed third). Two Russians singing a cover of an English-language song originally performed by Romanians? Wiwi already has a headache.
In the video, which you can see below, Filip and Kamalyia portray American gangsters Bonnie and Clyde. It’s scintillating stuff. What do you think? Does it come anywhere close to the version that led Paula Seling and Ovi to third place at Eurovision?
Filip Kirkorov and Kamalyia:
Paula Seling and Ovi:
I think it sounds just as good as the original except in another language.
