Ell & Nikki won Eurovision, and the journalists pounced. Vebooboo and Wiwi taped most of the press conference, so you can listen firsthand to what the duo had to say.
That is, of course, if you can actually stay awake. Whenever Ell took the reigns he insisted on driving home two points. First, that he loves us all. And second, that you can turn your dreams into reality. “You just have to believe and everything will come true,” Ell says at one point. Tell that the the 42 acts who lost…
Below you’ll find three videos. The first video is mostly cheese, and features a lot of Azeri journalists saying congratulations. The second video is perhaps the most interesting. Ell faces a tough question from a journalist about how a conservative city like Baku will cope with the influx of gay Eurovision fans (you won’t hear the question, but you will hear the answer). Ell dodges the question, but another gay man throws the question right back at him. In the third video, Jan Ola Sand, the supervisor of Eurovision, presents the head of the Azeri delegation with an invitation to come to Geneva in June to begin planning Eurovision 2012 in Baku. Then a big old blond lady (how German!) brings out a massive bottle of champagne.
