Wiwi’s readers correctly predicted that model-turned-pop-star Tooji would win Melodi Grand Prix 2012 with his song “Stay.” The latte-colored eye candy will now represent Norway at Eurovision 2012 in Baku!

Tooji, who was born in Shiraz, Iran, is the second straight immigrant Norway has sent to Eurovision. (We hope Anders Behring Breivik is forced to watch replays of Tooji’s victory in his jail cell). Tooji first got attention as a model at the age of 16, and since then has worked at MTV Norway where he presented “Tooji’s Top 10.” MGP 2012 was actually his first try at live music. Looks like he is a man of MANY talents! We love that he got seriously emotional when he won (in a landslide).

Tooji wrote “Stay” alongside Peter Boström and Figge Boström, two of Sweden’s most successful songwriters.Have a listen to their winning song.

Tooji released “Swan Song”—his first single—in 2008. Have a listen:

well, that Belarusian-born fiddling vest was really good for Norway, I’m not surprised they want to take the chance that another immigrant might do the same.
As for boring, I suppose that’s based on opinion. I’ll admit to using ‘Stay’ to pick up pace at work . . . it’s energetic, plain and simple.

The THIRD immigrant, actually, The Fiddling Vest was born in Belarus, wasn’t he?

(With the exceptions of Cyprus and Iceland, this year so far has been an amazing display of boringness)
