Russia’s Buranovskiye Babushki haven’t won Eurovision yet, but they’re fast becoming fashion icons. That’s because the London-based Generic Logo Company has started printing Eurovision t-shirts that feature the world’s sassiest sextet of singing grans. The shirts show the women in their traditional peasant garb with captions that evoke the Spice Girls: Scary, Posh, Baby, Sporty, Ginger….and Rusky. (Designers appear to have bypassed “Geriatric” in the name of good taste). The firm gives the same irreverent treatment to Eurovision stars including Jedward, Verka Serduchka and Engelbert Humperdinck. Rob, one of the company’s founders, thinks the shirts could foster world peace. “If the whole country wore our T-shirts, it would be a nicer, funnier, cuddlier place to be,” he told WiwiBloggs.Com in an e-mail. “We wouldn’t be there, of course, we’d be on my yacht.”

The shirts will no doubt turn you into the star of your Eurovision party this year. Retailing for £15, they offer a nice alternative to the official t-shirts sold at the contest and via eurovision.tv. You’ll be comfy, too. The images—Verka Serduchka as Carmen Miranda, Engelbert Humperdinck with toupee—are printed on Hanes beefy and slimfit 550 tees. “If Jedward win Eurovision today, we’d want everyone to be wearing our shirts tomorrow,” Mike, one of Generic Logo Company’s founders, says. It’s never too early to be prepared.

The same guy duplicated? Is that correct? We have no idea or any way of confirming/denying this. That’s how the photo came to us. You are clearly more qualified than we are. As a garment we think it works great: The Elvis Presley Album, followed by The Clash: London Calling, now Jedward, all with the same type and font (which is the point of the shirt.) I wouldn’t want to vouch for the photo for the cover of the Washington Post or The London Times and say it was accurate, so let’s treat it as art , not as a… Read more »

sorry but Jedward fans are not stupid or blind. On the Jedward T-shirts is only Edward to seen(twice) . Where is John? If they want to sell these T-shirts they should change it so that on the left side is John to seen and on the right Edward
