It’s only been 48 hours since Loreen won Eurovision 2012, but she is already going u-u-u-u-up. “Euphoria” has shot to the top of the iTunes charts in 14 countries including the United Kingdom. That’s rather significant given how much resentment the general public here direct toward Eurovision. The other 13 countries where “Euphoria” currently reigns are Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. The song is also #8 in France and Portugal.
Compare that to Ell & Nikki’s success on the iTunes charts at the same point last year. After their victory, “Running Scared” only managed to crack the Top 10 in seven countries, and it only reached #1 in Luxembourg.
Loreen wasn’t the only 2012 artist to earn a bit of cash over the weekend. Here’s the complete list of Eurovision artists who appeared in the Top 10 on the European iTunes charts as of 7:30pm on Monday, May 28.

Random, Italian media never potrays Sweden in a bad way, in Italy Sweden and the scandinavian countries are always seen as a model of life. Italians loves going to the northern Europe, so I only think that the juries tried to give the less pointing possible to the most dangerous country in the Esc. I’m Italian, I know what i say.
It is not strange that Italy gave Sweden 0 points at all. Not if you look at how Sweden has been portrayed in italian media. There was an incident some year ago where an italian politician walked around in Stockholm and had some dispute with his kid. He hit his kid in the head infront of people. Shortly after this he was in trial. It is against swedish law. And then italian media portrays Sweden in a very bad way, using pictures from the 80s of Sweden etc. So the 0p was political. You can not explain #15 on italian… Read more »
It’s top 20 here in Australia
Loreen is #15 in Italy… I can’t stand how Italy could give 0 points to Sweden… Actually “Euphoria” has the highest place of the ESC 2012’s songs in our iTunes chart!
