Following Eurovision 2012, Emin—the pocket-sized pop star who was lowered from the ceiling during the interval act—removed the wires and hit the studio. The result is his new album “After the Thunder” and the following video for his song “Walk Through Walls.”
In a statement sent to WiwiBloggs.Com, his team described “Walk Through Walls” as “an uplifting song of hope and optimism, perfect for the forthcoming Olympics.” How convenient. Emin, who supposedly writes his own music, said that the words and the melody came to him at once. “I usually write both at the same time,” he says. “That is the most immediate aspect of writing for me. I like to write stories in my songs based on observations about life and relationships or a memory.”
With that in mind, it makes sense that he sings, “You’ve got everything you need, and the world is at your feet.” I mean, he is married to Leila Aliyeva—the daughter of Azerbaijan’s president Ilham Aliyev. That must make funding one’s music career so much easier.
Anyway, you can watch the video below. What do you think?
