We’ll give Zlata Ognevich this much: she can sing and she’s very pretty. It’s just a shame that her song “Gravity” says absolutely nothing.
Zlata sidestepped 19 other acts en route to winning the Ukrainian national selection this morning. Her vocals were amazing. But she belted out pointless lyrics such as Nothing comes from love but love/ Flowers are growing stronger/ I am running from above.” Say what? We’re still trying to transcribe the rest of the song. That English is her second or third language is really showing. She needs to do more than shout into a wind machine to get our vote.
Eurovision is a SONG contest, so I’m afraid I can’t get behind this one…
What do you think? Original and inspiring? Lame and out in the semi-finals?
RIGHT LYRIC IS HERE: Nothing comes from dreams but dreams Still you believe in wonder Something happens and it seems Like a strike of thunder Nothing comes from love but love Why is it growing stronger? I am falling from above I will wait no longer Hey (You’ll never, you’ll never break free from gravity) I’m like a butterfly Spinning round a sword as if to dare I should have stayed up high (You’ll never, you’ll never break free from gravity) Nothing comes from pride but pride Don’t spare your blade Dancing on the edge tonight I’m not afraid I’m… Read more »
love this song
SUPER….AMAZING
The song is not bad, but it Will sounds even better when She spoke every english word of the song a bit better, when You chose to sing english You must do it well…
@Tyron
Wow, no disrespect but if the songs Gravity by Zlata and Hero by swedish botox woman are terrific in your opinion then I really don’t want to be at a party where you are the DJ… 😀
When I heart it, I thought about the lionKing song:))
Song is cool, and I think that lyric don’t mean too much…. so I like this song very much….. Zlata is super singer….. I hope that she will win
OK, so the lyrics don’t mean very much in English…but then again, when songs were all sung in the native tongues, no one cared about being able to understand them! You’re right – it’s a SONG contest. Not a LYRICS contest. And to be quite honest, this is one of my favourites so far along with Rhythm of Love and Something.
This song makes Gaitana’s “Be My Guest” seem deep. At least I got the message of that song. I have no idea what Zlata is going on about. BORRRRING.
Pfft. Who goes into Eurovision being discerning about the lyrics? Vacuous as hell couplets didn’t stop the likes of Hero being terrific, and they don’t stop this being terrific either…
