We are a month away from Melodifestivalen—Europe’s most talked-about national selection—and the running order is finally out. Get your pens and your lube, and start predicting the winner!

The wiwibloggs team thought a bunch of the country’s top celebrities would want to fight for the chance to defend the Eurovision title in their homeland this year. Well, perhaps it was their fear of being beaten up in gangster-ridden Malmo, but for some reason this year’s field of contestants is surprisingly devoid of top-flight Swedish celebs. Is Sanna Nielsen still spinning around in her pumpkin? Is Charlotte Perrelli stuck in a tanning bed?

It’s therefore no surprise that most of the entering celebrities have been given the first or last starting order position in the semis. The lucky recipients of those spots include David Lindgren, Sean Banan and (Peter Pan look-a-like) Ulrik Munther.  One surprise is the random sixth position start for our pre-contest favourite Caroline af Ugglas.  Is SVT looking to screw over the singer who so narrowly missed out on winning the 2009 contest?

An interesting discussion is definitely worth comment.
I do believe that you should publish more on this subject, it may not be a
taboo subject but usually people do not talk about these
issues. To the next! All the best!!

Im from Portugal, and it’s a surprise for me that one of my favorite singer, Jay Jay Johanson is on this ride. altough it’s quite strange cause is music isn’t any tipe of schlager or popular.

Despite the negativity of the person who wrote this blog I can’t wait for the Melodifestivalen to begin. I know their is going to be a few songs that will occupy my iPod for the next few months and genuinely excited to go to the Swedish pub in London with fellow enthusiasts. I am totally willing to hear the songs before casting comments on songs and also judging performers. PS. Basically referring to Chiara as fat with no real cause is just down right insulting and highlights the shallow nature of some people’s thoughts. Mate… Eurovision is fun… Don’t insult… Read more »

I am excited to see Pernilla Wahlgren back, albeit in a new trio called Swedish Housewives. I look forward to hearing their song – it should be good!

Not liking the comment about Ulrik being a “Tranny”. Such a horrible word to describe trans people.

Ahhh I still have high hopes for Army of Lovers. Even though they never sing live usually I am sure they will pull something out of the hat!

As usual the clueless Vebooboo Nadella can’t help himself from trash a simple thing as the running order of Melodifestivalen. Obsessed with promoting all possible stereotypes and factoids, he manages not only to insult Malta fans and the lovely Chiara but also spit out another awkward “joke” about the Laserturken trolling. I bet he’s totally oblivious of the fact though haha.

Hmmm…only the last namens in the 4 rows does matter here, Sweden always plays the best songs last:)) They are so predictable:))

And they still wonder why we think it’s not a good idea to let them pick the order in ESC…

My douze points already go to Ulrik Munther so I’m happy to seem him closing Melodifestivalen! I’m also very excited to see Caroline af Ugglas, Sean Banan, and David Lindgren. It’s a shame SVT doesn’t release the songs (until all the qualifiers have been announced) since being in America means I can’t watch the semis.
