Is It Despina Olympiou for Cyprus?

It hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, but sources in Cyprus are reporting that Despina Olympiou will represent Cyprus in Malmö.

Update: Cyprus officially confirmed the news on February 1!

Unlike most Eurovision contestants, Despina Olympiou already has a string of hits in her native Cyprus and in Greece. She won “Duet of the Year” at Greece’s MAD Video Music Awards in 2008 when she teamed up with her ex Mixalis Xatizigiannis on “O Paradeisos De Ftiaxtike Gia Mas”. Let’s have a listen:

“Vale Mousiki” is excellent. A minute too long for ESC, but you wouldn’t realise it.
