Read the lyrics to Ryan Dolan’s “Only Love Survives” and then let us know what you think. Will Ryan survive the first semi-final on May 14? Or will love leave him and Ireland wanting?

All our lives we’ve been afraid
Watching the world decline till nothing remains
But in our darkness hour, right before the dawn
The old world dies, the new day is born

We’re gonna live like it’s our last night alive
And we’re dancing till the morning light
And even if the sun don’t rise
In the end only love survives

So be love, be love
Just be love (Just be love), only love (only love)
We are love (We are love), only love (only love)
And when the stars are aligned you got to make love a state of mind
‘Cause in the end only love survies

So let the world collide, don’t be afraid
If it’s the end of time love will remain

To live like it’s the last night alive
And we’re dancing till the morning light
And even if the sun don’t rise
In the end only love survives

So be love, be love
Just be love (Just be love), only love (only love)
We are love (We are love), only love (only love)
And when the stars are aligned you got to make love a state of mind
‘Cause in the end only love survies

So be love (Be love), only love, love, love
(To be love, be love), only love, love, love
(‘Cause in the end) Only love survives

I think its an unreal song for Ireland its catchy and looking at the rest of the songs its definetly going to be in the top five ……And also the drummers are pretty hot. 😛

It’s so good Ireland got this song in the competition before Swedens Ulrik.

Wow. This has cheered up my Saturday no end!!! It’s uplifting, I love power songs and its up their with Loreen. Slightly worried if he can give the performance, but I see no reason why this can’t be in the top five in the final. It’s got energy and everyone seems to be making the Eurovision heart in the video.

Boys! Girls! One of the best and exciting songs to listen to this year!!!! Come on radio stations… Get playing it! Come on Europe start the dancing and heart making.

I think Aimee’s ‘Crashing Down’ was the better song – and would have done better at Malmo. Ryan’s song is ok – nothing wrong with it at all – but it isnt a standout song. I havent looked at who it will be competing against in the semi final – but it has a good chance of getting into the final – but needs a bit more ‘something’ to gard the listener / viewer. ‘Crashing Down/ is a good ballad and is well performed. Ballads can do well at Eurovision – and Aimee looks good too – and that helps… Read more »

My biggest issues is his charisma, or lack thereof. I find him so incredibly boring to watch, so it’ll be interesting to see what they do in terms of staging. The song itself isn’t bad, but it’s generic and forgettable for me personally. I also find the versus much stronger than the chorus.

This is an excellent pop song with potential to stage powerfully, and has enough musical sophistication to keep things interesting. A stronger change in the last 20s wouldn’t hurt.
I see this challenging “Glorious” effectively for the same turf, depending on final treatment.

Agree with anthony…it was close and aimee gave a great performance but the song lacked a little ……something….I think Ryan had the best song of the night and was our best shot…room for improvement though

It was definitely a nail biting finish but the best song eventually won at the end. My biggest concern about Aimee is that although she can definitely sing live, I fear non Eurovision fans might find “Crashing Down” a tad dreary for their liking.
