Robin Stjernberg doesn’t have Anton Ewald’s body or YOHIO’s hype, but in the end he had the lyrics, the song and the voice to win Melodifestivalen 2013.

Robin, runner-up on Swedish Idol, has been something of a quiet contender over the past few weeks. People didn’t pay much attention after he was eliminated from his semi-final. And even after he won the Andra Chansen round last week bloggers and Eurovision fans still seemed indifferent. But tonight he brought it and Team Wiwi is really excited for him.

Hey, do you remember
How we would stay up
all night
Talking about our destiny
And I played the piano
And you would strum on
Your guitar
Those were the days

If only you could
See me now
I live my dream
I owe it all to you..u
I owe it to you..u

Isn’t it crazy..y
Isn’t it crazy..y
It’s all because of
You..u.u..u..u
All because of
You..u.u..u..u

It’s all because of
You..u..u..u Oho
All because of
You..u..u..u Oho
I know that if the sky
would fall
I’d survive it all
Because of
You..u..u..u Oho

I reach for the horizon
Whenever I’ve got days
Of doubt
Bringing me down
So even if disaster strikes
I close my eyes
And then I’m next to you
I’m right there with you..u
Hey

Isn’t it crazy..y
Isn’t it crazy..y
It’s all because of
You.u.u..u..u
All because of
You.u.u..u..u

It’s all because of
You..u..u..u Oho
All because of
You..u..u..u Oho
I know that if the sky
would fall
I’d survive it all
Becuase of
You..u..u..u Oho

It’s all cause of you
Because of you
Hey ey
Hey ey
Because of you
Hey ey
It’s all because of
You..u..u..u.
I know that if the sky
would fall
I’d survive it all
Because of
You..u..u..u Oho
It’s all because of
You..u..u..u Oho
All because of
You..u..u..u Oho
I know that if the sky
would fall
I’d survive it all
Because of
You..u..u..u Oho

Hey ey
Hey ey
Hey ey

Azerbajdzjan: för mycket you and me. Lena var mycket bättre i Oslo. Alla vill men bara en kommer att vinna. Tänk på det!

When I first heard this song, I was really skeptical bout it at first, but now its growing on me and thinking about it, this is a lot better then about 90% of the entries we got already this year. Is it a good choice by Sweden? Yes (I would prefer Yohio though, but glad he got 2nd. Come back for Melodifestivalen 2014?) Is it better then Loreen’s Euphoria? No. I can see Sweden getting top 10 or maybe top 5, but second win for them? I don’t think so. In my opinion so far of the songs we have… Read more »

I’m a naysayer here. I don’t really like the song and expected a different result. I expected Ulrik to take it out. Yohio was a spectacle in a way, but he had a credible song.

Definitely not the best entry of Melodifestivalen. Ulrik Munther must have won, if not, David Lindgren.

LOL…
I was so happy when I found out Sweden chose this song for ESC.
I fell in love with it the first time I heard it (as just a preview) 😀

This song stands out for sure, and there’s a very huge chance Sweden wins again. I hope it does!

P.s. Robin reminds me of Von Smith so much!

I’m satisfied with Robin. His song is good. However, I’m a liiiiittle disappointed that David didn’t win.

Very well deserved. Then again, 8 of those 10 songs were better than at least 25 songs chosen for Eurovision this year. Sweden, you are always quality

I can’t believe we have a winner from Andra!!! Robin’s was the victory I never knew I wanted so much until it was a possibility. I was behind Ulrik most of the way, but I really feel that this was the right decision – the performance was more dynamic and the song has a ‘zing’ that TTWIH just doesn’t. You can bet the act will be polished up before May. And we can argue to the death that it “should have been Yohio” but if it was supposed to be him, it would have been. I totally agree with Nitzan… Read more »

First winner from Andra Chansen.

Fairly pleased with the result as I basically like the song, but haven’t been happy with the performances. The final performance was better, but still isn’t as convincing as it needs to be by May.

Luckily, Robin was 1st with juries and 2nd with the public, but the enormous split over YOHIO is going to be contentious.

Wow! It’s awesome that this guy slipped in and tool victory. And his genuine honesty and suprise an happiness is lovely to watch. I’m really happy for him. The song did pass me by when it first aired. But I was in a crowded pub. In the second chance round he caught my eye, am a short download later I was loving the track. I still do! he an sing, he is genuine and I think has a big career in front of him. I would like the staging to be a little more settled. At the end of the… Read more »

As of non swede myself I saw and heard the two favorites going in and was left unimpressed. Lots of smoke and mirrors and nothing else on my opinion.

After the performances I thought either robin or Louise deserved to win and one of them did.

B,
Oh wait, I was watching the Andra Chasen version above. I first thought WiwiBloggs actually supplied the Final version!
Still, the performance in the final is an improvement and I’m glad that YOHIO or Sean Banan didn’t win this year.

A decent choice

I don’t agree at all with what was said below with regards to Robin’s performance. I thought that he had by far the most polished performance of the night. Yohio struggled on some notes, as did Ralf, as did Ulrik, Anton and State of Drama. In the end, I’m so glad that Yohio did not win. I honestly don’t have any issues with Yohio himself, but I felt that “Heartbreak Hotel” was terribly dull. He deserved a song to match his uniqueness. I feel that he banked on his image for the hype he received, and not because the song… Read more »

Oh Sweden definitely got it right. Fantastic act that might even give them a double victory. The international jury saved the Swedes from themselves, as Yohio would have not done well in Eurovision. Well done Sweden for yet another amazing Show. Good luck from Israel

Robin was one of my favourite, I’m happy for him, he will find a place in my top 5 (not the first place, however) but honestly, the juries screwed Sweden. How could the results place YOHIO and Ralf on the bottom, near the horror act of the evening?! They should loose them forever. And if I were in Sweden, I would start the boycott against the international voting today, any way that I can, petitions, letters of complaints for the television, protests, anything! It was outrageous and even though nothing ties me to Sweden, had I been there, I would… Read more »

I’m happy that YOHIO didn’t win. However, I’m not so happy that Ulrik Munther didn’t win (and no, I’m not a 14 year old girl!).

Tonight’s performance from Robin is a bit of a mess and it needs a huge improvement if Sweden are to avoid humiliating themselves at Malmö in May.
