We launched our poll for the second semi-final on March 24. In just 24 hours we’ve already received a total of 2,420 votes. Since y’all are voting up a storm, we thought we’d review the current standings so you can figure out how intensely you need to campaign in the coming weeks. Drum roll, please….
First Semi-Final
We launched our poll to determine who will witn the first semi-final on March 19. As of 25 March at 20:00 GMT, a total of 3,443 votes had been cast.
At the moment Holland’s Anouk has a narrow lead over Denmark’s Emmelie de Forrest. Less than 50 votes separate the two favourites. Serbia’s Moje 3 currently sit in third, followed by Austria’s Natalia Kelly and Ireland’s Ryan Dolan.
According to our poll, the other acts that will advance to the final are Ukraine’s Zlata Ognevich, Slovenia’s Hannah Mancini, Moldova’s Aliona Moon, Cyprus’ Despina Olympiou and Russia’s Dina Garipova.
The following acts would be eliminated: Montenegro’s Who See, Belarus’ Alyona Lanskaya, Croatia’s Klapa s Mora, Estonia’s Birgit Oigemeel, Lithuania’s Andrius Pojavis, and Belgium’s Roberto Bellarosa.
Country and contestant | Votes | % |
1. The Netherlands: Anouk with “Birds” | 484 | 14.06% |
2. Denmark: Emmelie de Forest with “Only Teardrops” | 437 | 12.70% |
3. Serbia: Moje 3 with “Ljubav je svuda” | 355 | 10.31% |
4. Austria: Natália Kelly with “Shine” | 284 | 8.25% |
5. Ireland: Ryan Dolan with “Only Love Survives” | 273 | 7.93% |
6. Ukraine: Zlata Ognevich with “Gravity” | 230 | 6.68% |
7. Slovenia: Hannah Mancini with “Straight Into Love” | 228 | 6.62% |
8. Moldova: Aliona Moon with “A Million” | 193 | 5.61% |
9. Cyprus: Despina Olympiou with “An Me Thimase” | 163 | 4.74% |
10. Russia: Dina Garipova with “What If” | 156 | 4.53% |
11. Montenegro: Who See with “Ingranka” | 145 | 4.21% |
12. Belarus: Alyona Lanskaya with “Solayoh” | 134 | 3.89% |
13. Croatia: Klapa s Mora with “Mizerja” | 131 | 3.81% |
14. Estonia: Birgit Oigemeel with “Et uus saaks alguse” | 90 | 2.61% |
15. Lithuania: Andrius Pojavis with “Something” | 70 | 2.03% |
16. Belgium: Roberto Bellarosa with “Love Kills” | 69 | 2% |
This is definitely the tougher of the two semi-finals. There’s a lot of depth here and it’s going to be hard to predict who will advance. wiwibloggs does not believe for a minute that Serbia will qualify in the Top 3. They’ll be lucky to qualify at all. And I think this poll seriously underrates Belarus’ Alyona Lanskaya. Her song is going to go down a treat across Europe, and will surely qualify. Expect Russia to finish in the Top 5 rather than squeaking through in spot #10.
Semi-Final Two
We launched our poll to determine who will win the second semi-final on March 24. As of 25 March at 20:00 GMT, a total of 2,420 votes had been cast.
At the moment Romania’s Cezar Ouatu has a commanding lead with 504 votes. That’s nearly double Malta’s Gianluca Bezzina who sits in second with 263 votes. Cezar’s votes all rushed in at once on March 25, so we suspect his fan club or Facebook fans are busy spreading the word to vote Romania.
Finland’s Krista Siegfrids, Norway’s Margaret Berger, and Latvia’s Grupa PeR round out the Top 5. They each have more than 200 votes.
The other acts that will qualify for the final according to our poll are San Marino’s Valentina Monetta, Switzerland’s Takasa, Greece’s Koza mostra & Agathonas Iakovidis, Israel’s Moran Mazor and Bulgaria’s Elitsa & Stoyan.
According to our poll, the following countries will be eliminated: Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iceland, Hungary, FYR Macedonia, Albania and Armenia.
Country and contestant | Votes | % |
1. Romania: Cezar Ouatu with “It’s My Life” | 504 | 21.14% |
2. Malta: Gianluca Bezzina with “Tomorrow” | 263 | 11.03% |
3. Finland: Krista Siegfrids with “Marry Me” | 229 | 9.61% |
4. Norway: Margaret Berger with “I Feed You My Love” | 221 | 9.27% |
5. Latvia: Grupa PeR with “Here We Go” | 201 | 8.43% |
6. San Marino: Valentina Monetta with “Crisalide” | 194 | 8.14% |
7. Switzerland: Takasa with “You and Me” | 154 | 6.46% |
8. Greece: Koza Mostra & Agathonas Iakovidis with “Alcohol is Free” | 104 | 4.36% |
9. Israel: Moran Mazor with “Rak bishvilo” | 100 | 4.19% |
10. Bulgaria: Elitsa and Stoyan with “Samo Shampioni” | 94 | 3.94% |
11. Azerbaijan: Farid Mammadov with “Hold Me” | 76 | 3.19% |
12. Georgia: Nodi & Sophie with “Waterfall” | 66 | 2.77% |
13. Iceland: Eyþór Ingi Gunnlaugsson with “Ég á Líf” | 54 | 2.27% |
14. Hungary: ByeAlex with “Kedvesem” | 43 | 1.80% |
15. F.Y.R. Macedonia: Esma & Lozano with ”Pred da se razdeni” | 40 | 1.68% |
16. Albania: Adrian Lulgjuraj & Bledar Sejko with “Identitet” | 27 | 1.13% |
17. Armenia: Dorians with “Lonely Planet” | 14 | 0.59% |
wiwibloggs finds it difficult to believe that Latvia will qualify from this semi-final. Also, I’m fairly sure Azerbaijan and Georgia will qualify. Both have a stellar track record at Eurovision. Although I’m not into Georgia’s song, Nodi and Sophie can sing really well, and I’m sure the jury will reward them for that. And I really love Azerbaijan’s song—even if many of you do not—and think Farid will come through as well.
As for Romania, it’s daring to bring such a different song to Eurovision. The fact that “It’s My Life” won the popular vote in Romania in a landslide says something, and the man can sing. The song isn’t my cup of tea…but maybe some of y’all want to drink it all up. I’d be shocked if it won its semi-final…but I do think it can make the final.
What say you?
There are still several weeks to vote, so be sure to spread the word! These semi-final polls close on May 12 and May 14 at midnight, just ahead of each semi-final. And be sure to come back next week to vote in our next three polls: Who Will Win Eurovision 2013? Who Is Eurovision’s Next Top Model 2013? And Who Is Eurovision’s Next Top Male Model 2013?
Malta <3 the winner of this year eurovision
MALTA’s song is one of the best!! So happy with the ranking.. Good Luck Doctor I like your simple character!
azerbaijan number 1
Stop annoying, Romania.
Eurovision Song Contest 2014 is on its way to Copenhagen.
Romania is the winner.
Romania is the winner .
I like both Iceland and Hungary. Romania is definitively not working. It’s horrible.
1st semi is definitely very very hard Denmark, Russia, Netheralands almost certain to qualify? Moldova has very high chances, too I believe either Ireland or Slovenia will qualify, maybe both, these songs will stand out in the ballads Ukraine and Belarus most likely Lithuania and Belgium are similar styles, maybe one of them can qualify Montenegro is very unique, will stand out, although i think most likely a non-qualifier also, one or two from Serbia, Croatia, Estonia will pass?? I believe it is very unlikely that Austria or Cyprus will pass so, taking into account running order, patterns, neighbor voting… Read more »
cezar is amazing and he will win in the second semifinal he deserve to win …go cezar and make the difference
Gianluca’s song ‘Tomorrow’ is my favourite …goodluck Malta
Malta is really good
I love how polarizing Romania’s number still is. And I agree with Zolan – this is a good thing for Cezar: having fierce haters doesn’t affect him (this won’t get him “minus points”), but having highly devoted fans will clearly be in his favour. The fact that he has such a divisive act will make the public and his fans have certain expectations. But Cezar Ouatu, an established opera star who has never shied away from competition – actually, he has won major European singing contests in Spain, Germany, San Marino, Romania and Italy – will certainly fulfill and hopefully… Read more »
I can only love Cezar! He has an angel’s voice, singing the music of the future, pop opera. Free your mind and feel Cezar’s voice and song! There is life and love in it. Do not be afraid to welcome and reward Cezar, he is ahead of his time and he sings a futuristic aria for us. I know that I will vote for him!
winner for me is Malta
Malta is my favourite <3 🙂
winner from the first semi-final : Denmark
winner from the second semi-final : Malta
without any doubt my favourite is Malta this year.
I really like Malta’s song and Germany but goodluck to all the countries.
Cezar is the best voice in the eurovision contest…
Malta is the true winner this year.
from the second semi-final I wish that Malta wins .. it’s a really cute song.
Malta is the winner for me 🙂
Cezar of Romania has the greatest voice, the best song and a wonderfull talent!!!Romania could indeed surprise the eurovision consummers this edition!Go Romania!!
Dear friends from everywhere, you who claim the Romanian song is so-so, I’m glad you are so concerned about Cesar’s “It’s My Life” score, because this means that in fact you are worried . I simply thank you all. Acting this way you actually certify his victory.
Whats!!!????
Romanian is the worst entry in Eurovision history!!
If Romania ends up winning the whole thing this year, I’ll declare that San Marino will win next year’s FIFA World Cup! 😀
I think Cezar Ouatu has a great voice, but the style of the song makes it cringy. Anyway… I dont want to be too harsh… im sure it will bring entertainment to the evening. (i mean that in a nice way).
I’m sure Romania will win, it’s exactly how I said is going to happen. People don’t believe it, think it’s awful, but Cezar is winning it. I had the chance to watch a concert in Paris and he was fantastic. He is the most special participant this year and he is the favorite, not only my favorite, you’ll see. It’s not the first time you say a song will end last, it happened to Finland in 2006 and they won. The exact same thing happens here.
Casa Presei is NUMBER ONE !!! 12 puncte from Luxembourg !!
im kind of disapointed to see the Romanian song at the top of the chart. iv shown it to a couple of freinds and the reaction is ‘is awfull’. Its not my taste, i cant bare to listen to it and find it a wee bit embaresing.
Many songs this year have been greated with positive reactions from my striaght, gay, married and single friends. Especially Sweden, ireland, Netherlands, Austria and Finland of we are after a traditional eurovision entry.

rock bottom is Romania
…Cezar is somehow different for ESC…Stop misjudging a person….Take your time and you will see that sooner or later you will like the whole concept -voice and song! Romania does not have the worst song from ESC!!!! stop having prejudices!
There is really no other ESC site that would vote Romania top of any poll except for the “turkey of the year” award. Seriously guys, get a grip. It’s the worst song at the contest and simply will NOT qualify.
What is wrong with you people?Like me,another thousand people love Cesar song ,quite honest I m bored to hear the same kind of commercial music .Congratulation for courage Romania and good luck !
Hey do you know that Trijntje Oosterhuis goes with Anouk to Malmo to support her friend? http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bSbfamejKO4&feature=fvwrel
Romania song is awsome ,willl reach top 3 for sure in the final.
From Denmark all the best!
Wauw it’s great to see Anouk first, personally i don’t think she will win the first semi-final, but to go through would be great… I’m also shocked to see Romania and Malta in the top spot in the 2nd semi, I prefer Hungary and Iceland to go through. And i also like Serbia, it’s better then Zeljko in my opinion. I’m not a real fan of Slovenia, but they will make it, i guess =)
You must be kidding me with the second semi final result… Romania & Malta, if this happen in real life it would be the beggining of the end of Eurovision
I think the guys in Romania need to realise that even though they’re going nuts over Cezar’s song, it probably won’t be as popular everywhere else. I suppose it will be reflected during the televoting/juries in May!
Here are my top 10 for each semi final:
SEMI FINAL ONE:
1. Denmark
2. Netherlands
3. Ukraine
4. Russia
5. Austria
6. Ireland
7. Belarus
8. Moldova
9. Slovenia
10. Serbia
SEMI FINAL TWO:
1. Norway
2. Georgia
3. San Marino
4. Azerbaijan
5. Israel
6. FYR Macedonia
7. Finland
8. Malta
9. Bulgaria
10. Switzerland
Romania and Malta are on the wrong side of the list. They will both be at the bottom of voting come Eurovision
You must be kidding! Romania will not qualify for the final. lol
I don’t know what you have against Serbia’s song, I personally love it 😛
I think it will qualify quite easily (7th, or 8th), but will come middle of the board in the final (14th, 15th).
ROMANIA WILL NOT WIN ITS SEMI-FINAL. And i doubt it will win this poll. Eurovision is a long way away people. GO SAN MARINO. Also, the first semi is way stronger than the second. We need to redistribute the talent
The Romanian song is absolute crap. Sorry. It’s not going to qualify. Not even with all you Romanians spam voting….
Go Go Cezar !!! You are unique !!!
Romania is the winner,GO CEZAR.
Romania won’t qualify.
Neither did Krasimir Avramov for Bulgaria, it was a similar-genred song.
My tops from semi-finals are Norway, Lithuania, Malta, Hungary
From the finals: Sweden, UK
Cheers
I don’t think that says much about the Romanians, who won’t be able to vote for their song on the actual day. Romania to me won’t reach the final. The second semi is so weak I won’t be shocked if someone like Latvia, with their stolen tune, qualify. I still like Russia from the Junior Eurovision more than Latvia here 😉
Romania is the first
Romania is the winner of this edition
