Norway’s Margaret Berger remains the favourite to win the second semi-final at Eurovision, but Georgia’s Nodi & Sophie are closing in. When we last checked the second semi-final odds on April 24, Norway was hovering between 7/4 and 2/1. She’s still there. But she must have water on her back because Nodi & Sophie are putting up a real good fight with “Waterfall”. Their odds have shrunk from 3/1 to 5/2. Maybe the strong endorsement from the Wiwi Jury helped. They are currently in second place with us! The odds further down the board remain almost identical to what we saw at the end of April.

Odds to qualify

We’ve taken an average “odds to qualify” from 10 leading betting agencies and averaged them. According to the bookies the following countries will advance to the final from the second semi: Norway, Georgia, Greece, Azerbaijan, Malta, San Marino, Israel, Armenia, Finland, and Bulgaria.

I think the bookies have been taking horse tranquilizer, as these odds don’t make sense. I’d definitely kick Armenia out of the Top 10 in this semi, and I’d question whether Bulgaria and Israel will make it. I like them both, but I think Iceland, Switzerland and Romania could enjoy a lot of support in this semi. I just don’t know and I’m moist with excitement!

like I dont hate the georgian song, but its boring and medicore and its a cheap copy of everything, and I call it a weaker version of quedate conmigo, seriously overrated… and sophie and nodi’s expressions while singing, they are obnoxious 🙁 sophie is one beautiful girl…

Latvia likes Italian language (see Latvia 2007) so they will probably vote for San Marino. So does Spain, France, Romania, Germany and Malta because it sounds very similar to their own.

Albania and Azerbaijan for some reason give quite a few points to San Marino.

Scandinavia sometimes give points to countries nowhere near them (Iceland and Sweden fell in love with Cyprus in 2012.)

I think San Marino will get enough votes to qualify and maybe even win SF2.

Seriously, I cannot see Armenia qualifying with that trash. Plus, I don’t know why many people are suggesting that it may qualify due to strong voting power….. What voting power? Azerbaijan hates them, and Georgia usually prefers other countries, Russia not in this semi, Ukraine neither… So no final for them… Bookies are crazy sometimes!! Norway, Georgia, Azerbaijan are safe qualifiers for me, not sure about Greece though… I think that Malta will qualify again this year… It’s a good song, and I think Albania, San Marino and Malta’ s new best friend Azerbaijan will be awarding some high points.… Read more »
