Wiwi’s readers have cast more than 11,000 votes in our polls to predict who will win the first and second semi-finals at Eurovision. With just one week to go until the first semi, it’s a good time to review the current standings and assess who’s on their way up—and who is on their way out.
First semi-final
A total of 6,437 votes have been cast in the first semi-final poll. This semi is undoubtedly the stronger of the two, and includes a number of the bookies’ favourites including Emmelie de Forest from Denmark, Zlata Ognevich from Ukraine and Anouk from the Netherlands. All of them looked amaze during their first rehearsals. You can read our reviews of all of the rehearsals by clicking here.
When we last checked in on 15 April, Serbia’s Moje 3 had a 70-vote lead over Anouk. Today they remain in first place, but, following a strong first rehearsal, Anouk has narrowed that lead to just 60 votes. (Serbia’s Moje 3 had not yet rehearsed at the time of publishing this article). Denmark remains in third position. Belarus’ Alyona Lanskaya—who will emerge from a giant disco ball on stage—has climbed from 12th position on 15 April to fourth today. Ukraine, Ireland, Austria, Slovenia, Moldova and Montenegro round out the top 10.
According to our poll, Cyprus, Russia, Croatia, Estonia, Belgium and Lithuania will be eliminated. I find this difficult to believe. In my humble opinion Russia is an absolute shoe-in.

Second semi-final
A total of 5,264 votes have been cast in our second semi-final poll.
Romania’s Cezar Ouatu has extended his lead and now has more than twice as many votes as Malta’s Gianluca Bezzina. Malta has continued to climb steadily with our readers. When we last checked in on 15 April, he was in third position behind Norway’s Margaret Berger. But he’s knocked her down to third. (You can watch our interview with Gianluca here).
San Marino’s Valentina Monetta remains in fourth (though she currently leads with the Wiwi Jury). Greece, Finland, Switzerland, Azerbaijan, Israel and Latvia round out our top 10. According to our poll, the following countries will be eliminated: Bulgaria, Georgia, Iceland, FYR Macedonia, Hungary, Albania and Armenia. Georgia will qualify. They earned rave reviews from the Wiwi Jury. Latvia, which tanked with the Wiwi Jury, will struggle to make it.
There is still time to vote in both of these polls. Simply click here to visit our polls page.

I’m proud of Cezar’s voice and his remarcable show go romania
Farid <3 <3 <3
well said pridji go malta
Malta has the right song for the Eurovision Song Contest: very receptive melody, very cathcy and very different from the others. The song was written by Serbian guy and so will be many of the Serbian votes for this song since Serbia have no right to give votes for their representative. AVANTI MALTA!

Looks like were finally going to beat y’all suckaaas 🙂
Why are you so sure that “Romania be first when it deserves last place” ??? it’s just a matter of taste (good .. bad .. your own … others). And it’s just a matter of counting how many people consider that Cezar’s appearance in this show worth a certain prize. P.S. I am ashamed you confessed you are Romanian !!
Malta sure do deserve to be in the top 5 of the final
Serbia ..loveeee :)))
how can Romania be first when it deserves last place?
a lot of Romanian subjective fans….
that song is probably the most annoying song in the history of eurovision …
I am Romanian btw….it’s ok to like it,,,but to say it’s the best when there are 38 better songs in this competition….lame.
well done malta you deserve it
