Wiwi: In their song “Lonely Planet” the Dorians try to be deep, but the song is so generic that it ends up being pretty shallow. I’m fairly certain this will finish near the bottom of its semi-final, and not even amazing staging could save it from that. Their look is casual 80s, with lots of grey stonewash denim. The red backdrop and white lights look nice, but on a stage this big they seem really underwhelming. I would have preferred to see a massive globe rising in the background (as with the Buranovskiye Babushki in 2012).
Vebooboo: The group asks “who can save us?” and “who can stop us?” I asked myself these same questions during the first rehearsal this morning. This is undoubtedly one of the worst acts this year. There’s nothing left to say.
Deban: Forget “Lonely Planet”! My question is, ‘Who can save The Dorians?’. Just as State of Drama tanked at Melodifestivalen, this will fall out of the rankings. I like the song and the message, but the staging lacks impact. Also, when pitched against the other entries, it lacks oomph!
