Wiwi: Bonnie Tyler has always had a distinctly raspy voice—and that’s one of the reasons all of us love her. But at her first rehearsal this afternoon she sounded like she has taken up cigars and now relies on a ventilator. She’s simply past her prime vocally and appears to rest on her younger backing vocalists to help this song reach its (unfortunately low) heights. The staging is incredibly bland and climaxes with a platform raising Bonnie a few feet into the air. On the big night she’ll be wearing an off-the-shoulder chiffon top with a train, so I hope the producers crank up the wind machine. Any distraction from Bonnie’s “choreography” will be a blessing. It’s just too “re-animated corpse”. (You can read the Wiwi Jury’s review by clicking here).

Strange. Most other live blogs said she was vocally good and it came naturally. I don’t think anybody who isn’t arse shaking, howling down the mic (Georgia 2013) or singing about how happy they are would do well with this self-proclaimed jury.
Bonnie is not a winner, she is unlikely a top 10, but to make it sound like such a disaster is just rude and unfair considering 99% of others blogging from Malmo said it was good (Better than Sweden, Italy, France and Spain according to most).
Bonnie always had a smokers voice… she’s cool!
Ok, We got it!, You don’t like Bonnie’s song but please stop being so rude with her. I know it’s your opinion but She doesn’t deserve that kind of comments.
Next year I expect the UK to send Philip Kinorra, who should be in his 70’s now. Sending long forgotten stars will never be a good strategy, but at least we can laugh. Shame the Brits are so ignorant they never realised how good Jade was and after being so close to victory just decided to go in the completely opposite direction!
Huh? What was that??
She will be better than Engelbert…and Daz, and Scooch and def better than Jemini!!
I don’t find the choreography bland at all. She’s a 61 year old woman, not 16 – and I find this performance to be very reminiscent of all her hit songs. Bonnie’s a very charismatic woman, and I’m sure this performance will stick in people’s head more so than many of the other acts.
Bonnie is the crazy lady of the contest. It seems she just does not care and completely oblivious to what’s going on and just gets up and does her stuff. One thing for sure, on the night she will give it her all and at the end of the day she will shake the contest off like water on a ducks back. Love it how she’s already looking forward to getting back home to her place in Portugal. I love the fact how she is so at ease with herself and her life and seems to be their for the… Read more »
