Adelen—runner-up at Norway’s Melodi Grand Prix 2013—is about to go global. The 16-year-old “Bombo” singer has just signed with Simon Fuller—the same media mogul behind Victoria and David Beckham, Carrie Underwood, and Jennier Lopez. The news broke this morning in Norway’s VG newspaper.

David Eriksen, the famed Norwegian producer and manager who has worked with Lindsay Lohan and Jessica Simpson, told Adelen the good news several weeks ago. “I cried on the phone when David told me,” she said. “The pulse was at a hundred you might say. Partnering with Simon Fuller is so much bigger than me.”

Adelen’s MGP entry—a summer anthem full of energy and spunk and feel-good fire—has been streamed on Soptify more than eight million times. It topped the Norwegian charts and has remained in the Top 40 for 18 weeks.

Fuller, the mogul behind the global “Idol” franchise, owns X1X Entertainment, which oversees some of the world’s biggest acts. In August he will welcome Adelen to the U.S., where his team will set to work launching her globally.

According to Eriksen, that includes firming her up a bit. “Personal trainers will help her cope with fitness,” Eriksen told VG. “This is a fantastic partnership, but it is important to point out that [if she becomes a global icon] it’s a long, long way [down the road].” She will also undergo instense media training and dance instruction.

Eriksen says that Fuller described Adelen as “the total package”.

Most likely bilingual offerings.

And, even though it’s odd acoustic-sizing a club song. Adelen actually sounds decent here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJhOQ3F5R3M

As long as she doesn’t choke with all the dancing, she’s great. And only 16? Whole career ahead of her.

@Anthony

Of course she speaks Norwegian. I was just mentioning the languages you need to know to be successful in the USA. I assure you she will not be releasing any singles in Norwegian over here. They will focus more on her Spanish side for sure. I can definitely see her releasing Spanish language songs here, even bilingual offerings like Bombo.

I wanted Adelen to win MGP, but then Eva Boto came to mind. She could sing, had a decent song, but her nerves edged her out in the end.

@Alex B, I know Adelén is fluent on both Spanish and English, but don’t forget her native Norwegian obviously!

@Bogdan, Please take into consideration that Bombo was Adelén’s first ever single and she was still in high school during her time at MGP 2013. So of course, her vocals will need the time to mature though.

Course, with Bombo being written by common collaborators with Il Divo.

Now that summer is here, I admit that I’m starting to warm to the song. But Adelén needs A LOT of vocal training…

Oh, and all this talk about Adelen, we forgot to mention the song writers that wrote this awesome song. They will make some coin if she makes it big.

At the very least, they need to give this song a worldwide release, and with the backing of the new management team, it will blow up.

@Z24

Any deficiencies will be either corrected and/or covered up if need be.

In other words, under their management, you will not see or hear videos like the ones from the Norwegian NF.

Definetly needs more vocal training, but she’s the perfect popstar, and I hope to see her go worldwide.

@Wiwi Bloggs

Thank you. I share this website’s love for the song.

Also, Adelen took a lot of personal and unwarranted abuse on twitter and facebook right after the NF as well. I wonder who is laughing now.

Good luck to her. Plus, she speaks both Spanish and English which are the 2 most important languages to know if you want to have a career in the United States.

You cannot release a song as great as Bombo and not reap any rewards. This management contract is the reward.
