Yes, you read that headline correctly. Can Bonomo, Turkey’s 2012 Eurovision representative, is to make a cameo appearance in a sitcom this summer. The show is called “Yüksek Giris” (or “High ground” to those of us who don’t speak Turkish). It began airing on Sunday 28th July on AVT at 21:45 CET. That’s prime time people!

The show is about two roommates, who both fall for their new neighbour whom has recently moved in next door. Oh how original! A clip has been released of Can’s appearance in the show, and whether you speak Turkish or not, the clip is sure to make you laugh. I found the ship’s steering wheel nailed to the door of the apartment particularly ironic considering Can’s Eurovision entry was maritime themed. Sorry, Can: sailor jokes will probably follow you for the rest of your life!

This is Can’s second acting stint on Turkish TV, and he is the first of a group of musicians that are set to make an appearance on the show. We haven’t heard about the ratings yet, but there’ll definitely be some international promotion going on thanks to the Eurovision star! (Is it just me or does he look like Vin Diesel?)

It’s nice to see he’s been keeping himself busy since his seventh place finish in Baku, even if it isn’t anything to do with music! We’d like to take a bit of the credit for his turn on the small screen. We totally warmed him up with our own cameras back in Baku!

A sitcom? That’s kinda low.
