Zlata Ognevich is an amazing artist who has sung a number of incredible songs. But surprisingy she hasn’t released an album yet. So I’ve done some digging on YouTube and can now present some of her best work here. Here’s a curated look at the song stylings of Miss Zlata O.

Japan

This is, I think, Zlata’s finest video. It’s a beautiful memorial to the 16,000 people who died during the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Ukraine survived the Chernobyl disaster. This song and video were a gesture of hope and solidarity with the people of Japan, and a reminder that the nation could get through it.

Cuckoo

Zlata competed with “The Kukushka” at Ukraine’s national selection in 2011. She finished second, but the song helped raise her profile. This is an awesome girl power video (I have 3 daughters, so I like that a lot).

Far

This takes a bit of time to get going. But it builds nicely. So do the visuals which are heavy on levitation and lingerie.

Kiss

This one is really fun. And the vocal range she displays is amazing. The power vocals have a whiff of Gaitana about them.

Angel

Quite simply another amazing song. Zlata demonstrates her range—and her cleavage. It’s amazing how she can roll around in the backseat while also driving that car…

Gravity

And of course we end this with “Gravity”.

When Zlata sings, she grabs you and carries you through her entire song. In both the semi-final and final I just stood there crying because her rendition of “Gravity” was so beautiful. Zlata is no one hit wonder. We’ll continue to see great work from her.

And maybe we’ll see her at Eurovision again. A repeat by Dima Bilan got him to 1st place. Zlata has the vocals—and the creativity—to give a winning performance.

Which of her songs is your favourite? Would you like to see her return to the Eurovision stage? Let us know in the comments box below!

This girl has a brilliant voice and wonderful charisma and with the right promotion she could be the successor to Barbra Streisand on the world stage. Can’t wait to be able to buy her album and look forward to seeing her in the UK. There are very few modern day vocalists I would give my personal accolade to, but this is definitely a winner.

After listening to Cuckoo I’ve come to the conclusion that Zlata is just a prettier version of Crazy Frog :-/

I love song Pristrast very, very much and Zlata got for it award “Song of the Year” in 2010! It was one of the first songs of Zlata, second or third I believe. Beautiful song, piano ballad that takes a while to build, but is my absolute fave…. <3

“One Day” is a wonderful gem, showcasing a wonderful head register and an effortless operatic range. Song is like Christina Aguilera angst mixed with Opera.

You missed my favorite!

This one has a real tearjerker of a video, though the singing is pretty melodramatic too. I think it’s called something like Tiny Island. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ewg3LbENqFs&feature=plpp

Also, probably her oddest offering: My Bunny.
