A while back, we were wondering whose voice could be carrying Armin van Buuren’s possible Eurovision bid for the Netherlands next year. Wonder no further, says Sharon Doorson, ’cause gurl is ready to compete!
For those of you unfamiliar with Sharon, she’s an up-and-coming 26-year old Dutch songstress who got discovered in 2004 in the talent show “Popstars: The Rivals”, has had a few top 40 hits in the Netherlands, and is currently attempting to make it big internationally with the dance track “Killer”:
The song is taken off her debut album “Killer”, produced by Armin van Buuren’s sister label Could 9 Dance. In an interview with Vibe magazine, Sharon Doorson admitted that she is tempted to represent her country at Eurovision 2014:
I know Armin, and so many people have suggested that we work together someday especially for the Eurovision Song Contest. That is something I’d really love to do. Tearce Kizzo produced my song, “Bad Medicine,” which was originally written for Rihanna. I ended up being the lucky one to sing it!
Sharon Doorson definitely brings the voice and fierce, but what do you think? Could the Dutch Rihanna be the one chosen by Armin van Buuren, making it big on the Eurovision stage in Denmark? Or would you prefer another voice representing the Netherlands? Sound off below!

Not so sure about Sharon.. depends what kind of sound Armin and her can make together. Would be amazing though cause he does produce some really great emotional trance stuff that could come over well at Eurovision with the right vocalist. Or it could be a sound that won’t mesh well with Eurovision.. it’s a really hard coin toss, but would be a nice bold move!
I would like Kim Leoni to represent the Netherlands:-)
Afrojack and Eva Simons would also be an excellent choice! (Afrojack was a judge during the Dutch national final in 2012, by the way…)
It would be so awesome to see Armin at Eurovision. It’s true that all the electric-pop songs besides Euphoria did badly at ESC. But have you ever thought why only Euphoria succeded and no one else? It’s because Loreen can sing and the staging was perfect. The other songs like Glorious had bad singing and staging. If Holland can pull this off – sending Armin, then I believe they will do their best to deliver an amazing performance. Good luck! 😀
She’s good. I kind a like her ‘Fall in love’ song.
I know many UK people like to see W.i.L.L.I.A.M on eurovision to, why would that be? Because it would not work on eurovision?
Its all about the song really…armins last song This is what it feels like, would do great on eurovision. The compair with Cascada is new to me, In my eyes they are way different from each other…where cascada is stuck on the 90’s, Armin is more from these days:) Cascada failed last year because she was live not great, but more dissapointed really, and also the fact that people where saying the song was just like Euphoria…that wasn’t good Imo for her-:) Whitin temptation, yes would be also nice but Sharon said she would never do eurovision, thats also old… Read more »
More comercial club-dance-eletro-same-old-same-old? Hasn’t anyone learned that this kind of stuff fails at Eurovision? And this Sharoon is another among millions of Rihanna-esque style of performer. What is the purpose of having a performer not having a identity of his own? The fact that this may sound awsome in a saturday night club is not the same as sounding good and coming out sucessful in a music competition: and Eurovision is not a saturday night club. The Netherlands have way better singers and knows better than showcasing a style as repetititive and lame as dance music. It’s already exausting.
I don’t think this is the right choice for mine country. Cascada failed also last year. I prefer Within Temptation (:
Sharon Doorson ft Armin van Buuren would be absolutely HUGE. Why not show Europe some great Dutch dance beats?!
She is awesome, really talented and stylish, I’m proud she’s from my country ^^
Well lets HOPE that in the first place Armin will go for the netherlands… before we think about which singer goes with him lol:))
But some names:
Sharon den Adel, Sharon Doorson, Eva Simons…all three are great, but Sharon den Adel, will not go, she said that already many times. I think I prefer Sharon Doorson, because she is a newby, it would be great for her carreer to work with Armin.
